Sad to say but I dont have VS. so I have missed the last 3 games on TV. I also gave up my pavillion seats to the June 10th Buffett show in hopes of scoring cheaper lawn seats.
I guess I'm not as big of a Buffett or Wings fan as I thought I was.
I will work itself out someway.

Now that would make me sad, haven't missed the last 3, or the pistons a few years back. Always a blast!

Well, if Detroit were to have a Stanley Cup parade, it would certainly interfere with my plans to be in Pittsburgh for the Victory parade.

Without Timmo and Coburn the Flyers are just out-maned.
I would like to have seen the first goal in the past two games be a lucky deflection for the Flyers and maybe things would have been different. They were the breaks they got against the Habs...
Refs ruined the first period! There's no need to call marginal penalties. Let the Players play.

The Flyers are talentless goons. They've only gotten to where they are because they were slightly better than the teams they played. Stop whining about being 'out-maned'. It's out-manned. Stop whining about the refs - you sound like a Rangers fan.

Most teams are only slightly better than any other team. The Flyers are hardly goons. "
It's out-manned."
A type-o, that will keep me up tonight!
And I won't stop whining about the officials until they get their act together. If you watched last nights game you would know what I was talking about. I'm sure you won't find any Pens fans here that will tell you that was an even remotely well refs period.
And I never said that why the Flyers did not win. The Flyers did not win for several reasons. The main one was because they did not score more goals than the Pens. I hate it when that happens but the Flyers never seem to win when the other team scores more goals???
Hockey is a very long season and I watch damn near every Flyers' game plus many, many other games. I'm a huge fan and have been for years. So it's very frustrating when your in the playoffs, and have advanced as far as the Flyers have, to be down three of your best players. Yes it happens and there's nothing you can do about it but it's frustrating and I will whine about it if I feel the need!
In case you care what the other reasons are for the Flyers losing... Turnovers, a poor PP, inaccurate shooting (hitting the net!!!), some bad luck (first goals deflected in off players last two games), and the Pens have capitalized on their chances where the Flyers have not.

This is just speculation but IMO it looked to me like the refs got tired of hearing about the job they were doing and decided to make a statement by calling anything that remotely looked like a penalty, just to show what kind of game it could be if they call everything. Most of those hooking calls were phantom calls. Hossa's penalty was not even close to a hook, and how can Briere hook someone when the blade of his stick was pointed straight down at the ice. If they wanted to call penalties they should have called one on Downie for his cheap shot on Sykora after his turnover led to a goal. Other than the Downie turnover there was no luck involved in this game, the Pens dominated. Only 8 shots by the Flyers in the first 2 periods? More than luck. Series isn't over yet, but its close. Not impossible for a team to win 4 in a row, but the odds are against it.

I don't think the shot by Downie was a cheap shot. It was a clean hard check. And as for luck, Downie making a bad pass (just like the one Malkin made the other night on the PP that led to Richards SH ) was lucky but the first goal that deflected in of a players leg is not luck?????
And shots on goal can be a little deceiving. the Flyers had plenty of shots but they kept missing the net!

You forfeit whatever minimal credibility you had with the first statement.
And if you believe your first statement, what does that make the teams they played previously ..... more "talentless"?
The reason the Flyers lost is simple - they were outplayed. Too many sloppy plays, too many mistakes (mental & physical) and they didn't display anywhere near the sense of "urgency" that the Pens did. Did they give an effort? Sure, but there's a difference between effort and EFFORT. Lucky bounces? Maybe, but sometimes you make your own luck just by being in the right place at the right time. Ah well, I'll just look forward to next year.
And I also thought the refs were dreadful in the first period - bad calls both ways. (Good grief, can we please go back to the original rule book interpretation of hooking?) To their credit though, at least they pretty much put the whistles away for the remainder of the game.

And I think that sums it up. ...They kept missing the net.
Isn't the point of the game? to get it in the net?
Downie's shot was clearly a frustration cheap shot after the goal had been scored. But, the refs did exactly what playoff refs are supposed to do. Call them early and then put the whistle away late. I've got no problem with the non-call.
This game out of all them, Flyers fans have NOTHING to complain about except their team. Not the refs, no "diving", no "cheap shots" to the head...just bad play.
I'm still amazed the Big, Bad Flyers and their fans can't take a dose of their own medicine. Hockey involves hard hits that they used to be able to deliver. The Flyers were outplayed and outcoached every game so far in this series.
This was supposed to be the game where Stevens could match his lines better and he STILL has Downie out against Malkin. WTF? At least he finally had the decency to say the Flyers got beat last night instead of making excuses.
Oh and the orange shirts with "Why Not Us?", how silly. I think that question has been answered. The clock has struck midnight Cinderella.
Vengeance HOW? should be the new slogan.
I think Thursday will see some ugliness on the ice with a few fights...and you don't want that either.
Also, nice to see Philly fans boo Sykora after he was hurt on the cheap shot unlike the Pitt fans applauding Coburn when he got up on Sunday.
Stay classy Philadelphia.

Bits,

Thursday should be interesting.
