After the Bruins tied it and sent it to OT I thought... maybe?

But I forgot the game was in Montreal. The ref misses a face slash by a Hab, then makes a tripping call on Boston that he had to think about for an eternity. WTF!!! I checked my DVR and he waited almost 10 seconds to make a really iffy call, in OT!

For years hockey fans across the league have moaned about strange calls and non-calls that seem to happen only in Montreal. I guess some things never change. :x

Sorry, I have to disagree...the trip was obvious.....he may have waited to make the call, but it was a legitimate call. As for the slash, that was not a call. If you read the rules, they state that if in the act of shooting or passing the puck the follow thru hits an opposing player, it is not a slash or high stick.
In fact, this was debated on HNIC after the game, with Don Cherry thinking it should be a penalty, but Ron McLean (hardly a Habs fan), who is a minor league ref, corrected him by explaining the rule.
The B's played well last night, but the refs didn't decide the game. If you look at the whole game stats the penalties were even, with both teams even getting 5-3's. If Brisbois' shot had gone in rather than hitting the post with one tenth of a second left in the 3rd, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
I expect the B's to come out hard and fast this game....should be interesting. Another great Habs-B's series.

Great to see the Gahden rocking again like
the old days! Great win by the Bruins. The last
two OT games certainly keeps the Bs/Habs playoff
rivalry going. Hope the rest of the series is as exciting!

What a game. My body hurt just watching it (then again, that could have been the kids jumping on me).

The Caps need to play with the same intensity as Sat or the Flyers are going to tick off 4 straight to take the series. Let's Go Caps!

yeah, it was a great game last night....could have gone either way. But did you see all the red jersey's in the stands??? You never would have seen that in the old Gahden....there would have been a bigger battle in the stands than there was on the ice :D
Rest of the series should be good!

I think having all those Montreal fans just added to the atmosphere.
I admire their passion for their Habs. It's also very moving to see
how all the fans in Montreal sing their anthem with such pride. As much
as I want the Bs to win, I respect the reverence Montreal fans have
for the sport of hockey.

If you want to see red jerseys in the stands, check out the Saddledome some time! It's amazing how much red there is!

By the way, keep your head up Marleau ... http://youtube.com/watch?v=hKSU_0Ke9Yk [smilie=graytard.gif] [smilie=graytard.gif]

Calgary played a helluva game last night....at least the last 57 minutes of it. Didn't think the Flames could come back from 3-0 against the Sharks, but you got to give them Props for it....would love to see the Flames take this series.
