The_Polly_Roger wrote:My backpack arrived yesterday and I got another flasher for my bike oh, and a new helmet (foam padding in old one had degraded).
So now I have all the gear and just have to do it.
I'm going to take the bike for a spin around my neighborhood this weekend to make sure everything is working as it should and then Tuesday I am planning to bike to work!
I'm a bit worried though as it has been really windy lately and riding into the wind is like going up hill the whole time. Also I'm really fond of my car and its creature comforts but I've got to start doing something.
I plan on showering at the gym and if I make good time I may do some weight training before work.
Baby, you are SET! Maybe ride a little each day around the neighborhood between now and Tuesday just to get yourself prep for 15 miles on your first day and in case it's windy. You don't have much to lose and if you haven't been a total couch potato you're gonna make it. And just think of all the $$$ you'll save in gas.

Hello Everyone! I think it is great that several people here feel good enough to share the weight. I'm not there yet but let me say I am way too short and far too round! Yesterday when I went to work out the chain fell off my machine....UHG!!! Had to spend a half hour taking things apart and fixing them, then the dvd didn't want to play. Gave up on that and only because I thought of you all here was motiovated to get on my gazelle and work out. I am suppose to be working out now and the only thing moving are my fingers. Feeling discouraged. Afraid I will never get this off and stay too round forever. Thanks to everyone for being out there and sharing. It does help. Peace

Forget the machine go outside and walk....breathe that fresh air in and give everyone you see your best Parrothead smile and say hello to all. Make youself happy by spreading positive vibes....and you'll be exercising without even knowing it. Don't worry about being "round" you're beautiful and alive and ready to feel good....GO FOR IT, GIRL!

Walking is the best possible exercise.
Habituate yourself to walk very far."
Thomas Jefferson
Exercise alone provides psychological and physical benefits.
However, if you also adopt a strategy that engages your mind while you exercise, you can get a whole host of psychological benefits fairly quickly."

Thanks for the encouragement friends! So, I got on the machine and the chain fell off again .....twice!! So, called the company and they are sending a sticker so I can send it back and get it replaced. Unreal!!! So annoying because I really like it and felt it could make a difference. Now I have to wait for a whole new machine and start over....UGH!!! Right now it is raining, don't feel like walking in the rain today but I am going to go on my gazelle. Highly recommend it, IT is very reliable and very easy on the knees. Cardio Twister...not so sure about at this point! If you see the infomercial you may want to wait until I see if the replacement holds up any better before buying it. Just want to share so nobody else gets in this situation.

I've walked my 1/2 mile every day Weds, Thurs, Fri....
Yesterday (Fri) I did 45 mins of my Gilad videotape Sculpt & Tone. First time in three weeks I did anything but walk, because of the creeping crud I'm just about over. It was like starting over from scratch.
Maintained 211.
Barefoot, that Gazelle is sure fun. I've tried one at the local Hibbett Sports. It's just as much fun as it looks. I've got no room for one, and don't want to spend the money, or I'd get one.

I haven't been perfect the last few days w/ Hubby's grandma in the hospital, but managed to order a taco salad instead of a pizza at the hospital cafe. Probably not drinking as much water as I should, but have a good 40oz in me already, plus a 1.5 mile run this morning.
Heading to the hospital for more family stuff.

There comes a point when you don't want to eat at all.
