I was really happy with my progress last fall. The surgery in December has played havoc with my metabolism and I'm back up. Seeing the pictures from the FFF made me realize how much I had gained back.

I've got a goal to reach by August and I am determined to meet it! Hello Mr. Elliptical - you are now my best friend.
Awesome, I know you can reach it. :)

Dude... OMG I had no idea. What a success story for you. I've gone back and read through this entire thread and am just amazed. It is very inspiring, and it also makes me realize how reachable my own goals are.

Nancy, I love Pat Conroy. I just finished South of Broad. It made me really love my friends. Thanks for the advice. I will download Beach Music so that will be next. Also, If you enjoyed Where is Joe Merchant, you'll love Dave Barry's "Big Trouble", and anything at all by Carl Hiaasen. I love the violent comedy genre.

By the way, my job requires that I drive about 40,000 miles per year (I know, that's a lot of car time). I wish there was some way that I could make that time in the car productive.

Hey, guys...it's great to see so much action on this thread. Welcome to all the new "Healthy Living" people...good luck on your goals! You can do it...you just have to stay motivated(which is hard, I know).

Great job to everyone who's still going at it...you guys continue to inspire me every day.

I'm doing good...like Nancy I gained 6 1/2 pounds when I went to Texas. But, I'm back down to where I was the day I left. I've lost 40 lbs. and am feeling better than ever. My next goal is to get down to what it says that I weigh on my driver's license...haha. It's only another 10 lbs., so, it should be doable withing the next month or so. Anyway, have a great day, everyone!

Is that you, Jeanie?? OMG I had no idea you still hung around here. Sorry about last night. I spent a long time at Baptist hospital with my poor mother-in-law. Looks like she may have some pretty serious issues. But truly... How about Monday night? I really do want to jam.

As simple as it is I don't think it's very insightful, but I've never been one for getting too much below the top layer.

Great work Landshark :D 10 pounds to go is amazing.

No more :( :( of those, we're all here to help Dancin' Queen you can do it. :D

This is a little disturbing on many levels, my sister had a yard sale a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was a good opportunity to get rid of some my old clothes. I don't know how it got started, my guess would be some Jack Daniels, but my brother in law and his neighbor... well you just have to look at the picture.

Apparently when they did this the pizza delivery guy showed up.

that's awesome, my laughing turned to coughing (trying to shake this cold).

Made it back to the gym today, looking for two more days with work finally happening.

Congrats/keep it up/welcome aboard to all y'all!!!

(((Jeannie))) it was so good to see you at Papa's!! Welcome aboard.

Stacie, I'm so sorry I missed meeting you...obsessed is good.  (I just saw my 45th show since 1994 and that's pretty PHinatic for me; can't believe this all started 17 years ago.) 10 more is CLOSE...

Mr Twain...that is a lot of time behind the wheel. My trips always, always take much longer these days...I do get out and walk as much as I can on trips, even if it is just 5-10 minutes. And I've read almost all of Carl Hiaasen and have read Big Trouble and even bought the movie. My husband says it's hard to believe I liked that movie, and it's hard to explain why I like Hiaasen and that Dave Barry book. May be just the Florida writer connection.

Hey, Janice!! You look great, but it's all about how you feel and it never hurts to step it up some!

Johnson, that pic is too funny...I'm sure Jack Daniels definitely helped bring that on. The 10 lbs. isn't my ultimate goal...just my next goal. I think my ultimate goal is still about 45 lbs away...but I'm not exactly sure.

How do you guys come up with an ultimate goal? Do you just go by your BMI or some other system? Just curious if anyone has any ideas.

Nancy, I'm so sorry I missed you guys at the Houston show...I really wish we had gotten to Houston earlier so we could've stopped by Papa's Ice house. Anyway, maybe next year. :D

Jack, congrats on getting back to the gym...I'm sure it felt good.

Off to a bachelorette party tonight...hoping I can keep myself under control with the drinking & eating too much.

LOL Yeah I got a real kick of it.

That's a great way to do it. I set my first "Ultimate" goal at 200. And then just went a little at a time. As for what I hope to finally weigh, it's really just what I'm taking a guess at, I need to figure out what would be good for me.

The last couple of weeks, I've been putting on a lot of muscle so I haven't been losing weight. So I may need to move into more carido and then do some muscle building after I get to where I need to be.

Before and after pics are a great idea, :D

Here's my latest, from 384 to 284 to 194, I need to get those last 10 pounds so I can have my perfect 3 pics.

Wow Johnson, those are amazing! Very inspirational :D Well, I didn't get in the shape I wanted to be before this year's concert (this has become my annual goal), but I might as well start setting my sights on next year, right? I want to lose about 35 lb. when all is said and done. I love to go out to eat, and my boyfriend (who I live with) loves to go out to eat maybe even more than I do...it's a constant battle! Siiiiiigh. Anyway, congratulations to all who have had success!

Thanks! Yeah, everybody loves to go out, it's just making better choices. A lot of places I'm starting to see have healthier choices, and every once in a while, I'll have a cheat day. It's just a matter of not letting setbacks get to you. I used to do that. I'd gain a few pounds over a long weekend, I'd get p*** off at myself and then I spend the next few days letting it get to me.

Now I just know I was down to 190, I'll get back there. I'm not to the weight I want to be yet, but I got close, and I'll enjoy Memorial Day, and then be right back at it.

I spent the weekend hanging out with my sister and her husband and my nephew. And now I've learned to realize one weekend of chilling out wont undo everything I've already achieved. I used to think if I took a little time off I wouldn't be able to do as many push-ups, sit-ups, curls, etc., now I know that's B.S.

The hard thing for me is I see myself everyday, so I for the most part I don't see the changes. One of my sister's neighbors, we chatted a few times since my brother in law's birthday party, but it's just been quick. This is the first time in a while I've spent much time around him, he's a really into working out, and he was blown away by the progress I've made in the last couple of months.

Up until a few months ago, I still saw this guy.

Image

Now I see this, hell I don't even recognize the other one.

I had to keep posting all these pics, you all must be getting sick of them.
