Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Contrasting workouts today, I did yoga this morning with the AC on, I usually don't like to turn it on, but it was muggy. I was planning on just hitting the treadmill under the AC, but when those tornado watches started popping up I knew I had to get out and run. Heat and humidity, great sweat, not sure about a great run, but definitely a great sweat.
My mind has just been running a hundred million miles an hour the last couple of weeks, doing that yoga really cleared it out and calmed it down. Now, I'm just watching the weather, listening to some smooth music and planning my next move.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Humid, stormy morning, great for Legs & Back. I hated legs and back. I still hate balance lunges. All the lunges, squats, speed squats, weighed lunges, none compares to a minute standing in chair pose, pouring sweat from head to toe. Rest of the day is going to be good, no more workouts scheduled for today!

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Mixed bag on the "healthy living" this week.
Exercised my azz off! Fell off the good nutrition wagon a couple times but did rally to help offset. All-in-all, fairly satisfied with my week.
I have dropped about 10 LB's Since the June 3rd reality check weight-in thanks to the "Soup Diet". Now it's time to tone it up.
Johnson seems to be MIA. Prolly busting his azz on a non-stop guiness book of records workout.
Still out there Bud?????
Best to all!!!!!!![superkewl [smilie=superkewl.gif]](./images/smilies/superkewl.gif)

I have been trying to kill it or myself the last couple of weeks. The weight loss isn't rocketing back down, but I'm a HELL of a lot stronger. I've been meaning to come check in everyday, but I've just crashed at the end of the day. Checked my blood pressure today it was in the 100s/50s. I've almost missed those low blood pressures, better than any high I could ever imagine.
I've been doing P90X along with the half marathon training from http://www.halhigdon.com/, starting at novice, when I complete that I'm moving on to Intermediate, then Advanced and then probably onto the marathon training. A friend of mine is thinking about doing a half marathon in Vegas, I may just fly out there and do it with her.
Wednesday, glamour muscles, love that work, shoulders, biceps, triceps, great workout. Arms feeling good, my pull-ups on Monday and Friday are getting better quality, higher quantity! Yoga on Thursday is a nice and intense break. Tuesday I shredded Plyometrics, I was burning my legs to the point I wouldn't finish a move or I would modify to make it easier. I went all the way this week, no modification, no stopping. I need to measure my vertical leap, I know it's getting higher.
I still sink like a rock, been helping the folks' clean the pool. It's a disaster we didn't get our new cover this winter, it's full of leaves, complete black pool diving, but I took the tank down to almost zero and was able to stay down with no added weight.
Got a lot of thoughts running through my head, to unorganized to get them all straightened out right now. New P90X workout coming out later this summer, new Shakeology flavor, and an app coming out too.
That's another thing, my nutrition has been great. I've been doing a good breakfast, Shakeology for lunch, it's excellent, some sort of recovery after my late day workouts and a sensible dinner. Veggies coming on strong in the folks' garden, I'm really loving that.
Bring it!!! Let's get'er on!!!!

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
You sound great, Jerred. Glad you have such enthusiasm. Good luck with marathon training.

Thanks!!! I'm feeling pretty good about my work. I'm needing to work more on recovery, maybe add another snack or something in. I'm no only working on working out, cutting out too much BS, more reading, less TV, studying anything I can get my hands on. Somewhere I have a Rosettastone for Spanish. I want to add that into everything. Right now, I have three books going, and a stack to the ceiling to get through.Dr.Corona wrote:

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Good workout this afternoon. Love shoulders and arms!!!! Got an evening run in tonight, haven't had one of those in a while. Summer has backed off a little this week and it sounds like next week it will kick back into high gear. Next week is a well deserved recovery week.
I'll do some easier workouts and kill my runs, shooting for some morning runs it sounds like.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Whew!! That was a tough 8,500 steps. I only had 1,500 after the concert and got all 10,000 in before OPH during the replay.

Way to stick with it, I don't know what's going on right but everyone I talk to his struggling right now. I know I set for myself dates for myself that I'll start up then, but as motivated as I am and the desire I have after the 4th, I'll be on track. Trying to get ready for the 4th and working out, it's just been a busy couple of weeks.conched wrote:Whew!! That was a tough 8,500 steps. Re: HEALTHY LIVING
Just wanted to check in with ya'll. I need to get back to some healthy living tomorrow. Went to a couple of shows and now I'm ready to get back to business. I did run a 5k this morning, so, I didn't feel too bad about indulging myself at a wine festival this afternoon.
How's everyone doing?

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
I hear ya. I'm doing great on my workouts and feel amazing, but I'm not seeing the results that I need, I'm getting some of what I want, but now what I need. It's all futile until Saturday. I'm going to do what I can until then, if I can get the scales down that's fine if I can maintain that's fine too.sonofabeach wrote:Keep fighting the good fight y'all.

After that, I have no idea what I'm going to do.
Great to hear, was it a race or just a run?Landshark Girl wrote: I did run a 5k this morning, so, I didn't feel too bad about indulging myself at a wine festival this afternoon.![]()
How's everyone doing?
On the bright side, tomorrow is tornado watches, so I have to go out and get my midday run, I don't think I have to worry about a tornado picking my ass up off the ground right now.
Good or bad, folks, keep checking in. Either you can inspire or be inspired.

Re: HEALTHY LIVING
So I'm going to start checking in here. It helps be if I'm accountable to somebody, even an internet community.
I was doing pretty well before hitting GW last weekend and had managed to get another 10lbs off in the two months between the Tampa show and then. Busting my ankle is going to keep me from doing anything terribly productive for the next week or so, but I can still get back to my healthier eating habits. After climbing the Pilgrim Monument last Monday I am determined to get back into better shape.
I'm toying with the idea of PX90. Has anybody here tried it? I really wish I were into running, but there's no way you're going to convince me to do it when it's 97 here with 85% humidity.

I tried it but did not make it past the first round. I went on vacation during it and unfortunately I never went back to it. I probably made it about 2 months in.maid memories wrote: I'm toying with the idea of PX90. Has anybody here tried it? I keep thinking about getting back into it. The workouts are tough.
I threw up the first night. I felt so good during that time which is why I should get back into it.
Johnson/Jerred can tell you much more about it. He's been doing it for quite some time with great results.

A friend of mine started it, but was referring to it as "suicide by PX90" after the first few days.sonofabeach wrote:I tried it but did not make it past the first round. I'm just sort of hanging in there....which is okay. The weather is finally GOOD....so I'm back in the game that way. My attitude is so much better when there is sunshine. The availability of good fresh fruits and veggies helps, too. Went to this deal last weekend called "Bountiful Baskets" for $15 you get a laundry basket LOADED with fruits and veggies....you don't get to pick, you just get what they give you....but most of it was good stuff that I've eaten....I'll do it again in a week or so! They're mostly a western US thing, but the website is bountifulbaskets.org....it's cool.

Here in VT we have Farm share - you sign up and every week you get a basket of veggies from a local farm - it's whatever they want to give you/whatever is in season. There are multiple farms across the state who participate and there are pick up points in most towns.pbans wrote:I'm just sort of hanging in there....which is okay.
