I guess we all can. Although I would not say that I hate fat people.
I hate being fat and I don't believe anyone who says that they're fat and happy.

As for waiting for a sign....I can understand that for some people.
I think everyone has to hit their own low before they get finally do something.
I know I did. I remember one night back in 06 when I rolled over in bed and it was like a struggle just to turn. I laid there crying to myself. Shortly after I made a list of the 10 things I hated about being fat. Some were really personal.
Right now I'm back in the struggle and it's way harder than it was back then but I am going in the right direction. I still need to lose about 35 pounds.

There's a lady at my job who was close to getting surgery to lose weight but instead she got on a diet plan and has lost 75 pounds so far.
She's an inspiration to me just as I once was to here. Her focus reminds me of that eye of the tiger that I once had but am getting back.
Keep going man and keep venting.
You are one of my inspirations as are you Paige.
pbans wrote: The battle never ends, it really doesn't.
Yeah, I had weight loss surgery.....and a lot of people think that's the "easy" way out....but look at how many people that have WLS gain it back....I don't...no, I WON'T be one of those statistics. I fight with 10-15 pounds all of the time...but that's a hell of a lot better than fighting with 110-115.
You'll get there, Michael. You know what to do, you know why to do it and you know that you're worth it.
Yeah, I hated saying I hate fat people it's the mentality. Either I'm happy or I'll ignore, me being the latter. And I don't hate on people that get the surgery.

Two examples one woman got the most extreme surgery and she didn't need to lose a lot of weight and now she can't drink anything with carbonation, alcohol and can barely eat anything and people tell me she looks worse than she did the before. The other, she was constantly eating and drinking and she did not look well either.

If you get the surgery and do what the doctor tells you then, rock on. It's the easy way out mentality and you don't do anything in support of it that bothers me.

Until I went to the doctor I ignored every sign thrown in front of me. I know everyone has to come to it when the want to, I just want people to know this is your sign, me and all of you.

Thanks for all the great words, when I tend to get on one of these rants I say stuff that I usually like to keep to myself. I never want intend to offend anyone, I just start typing and hit send.

Keep on rockin' it!!!! I know you can do it sonofabeach!!!!!!
There are a lot of things I can't eat or drink....it's a trade off.
But you're doing it, the problem is too many people don't pay any attention to what they're supposed to do, at least the ones I have encountered. And too many jump into it without thinking it over, those are the ones I have the real problem with it.

Too many don't see the bigger picture and take the small stuff for granted. From just what I know about you through the forum, you get it. I wish I could find more people around here like you to surround myself with.

I've been thinking I need a change of diet.
I'm gonna try Atkins. I've been reading up on it. My wife is on a similar diet and has had pretty good results so far.
I'm gonna continue reading up online and get the book as well and start in a couple of days.

the diet I've been on and off with is the DASH diet. it's designed to help eliminate high blood pressure and hypertension, and as a secondary thing people lose weight.

OMG Jack! That's the diet I try to live by. Of course I do wander off it every now and again, but when I'm a good girl, this is the diet that works for me. Good Luck, not that you really need it. You look great. :)

Mix it up.

I've been trying to think of something to come in here and post. I think I've done entirely too much of that lately. I've just been walking, in the morning. Diet has been good, tomorrow I'm going out for a run, just me, the music and the pavement.

Stay hydrated out there.

I hear ya.
I'm still gettin after it. Not much exciting to report. More of cardio than anything. doing some planks and push ups along with shooting hoops. Paddlin on the weekends when I can.
Had a physical and lab work done a couple weeks ago for the first time in years. All systems go.

Great to hear! I've been hitting the roads in the morning, swimming at night. It seems to be working. Going to mix it up a little more today and see what will happen.

I was thinking about you today, I was going to ask how you were doing with your steps. I don't know if you've heard of fitbit. It's a basically a fancy pedometer. It tracks steps, distance, calories, but they have website with an active forum and an even more active facebook page.

I did a great run this morning my best 10K yet. After my run I jumped in the pool with it in my pocket, left it out in the sun for most of the day and it was alright. I didn't have it in the water for long, you may check it out.

I've been starving the last few days I can't get enough to eat, not gaining, not losing. Tomorrow might be a gain. It was damn hot today. I had 119 on my iPod and a cold beer sounded good and then another and a another and another and so on. I won't be too upset about it, nothing you could do today. Brutal.

Yes, have a great time in Sturgis. I'd like to see your photos of the place!

I've only been in March for Springbreak, but mr conched did the whole nine yards one year.

I'll check it out soon. Thanks for the reference.

My $15.00 pedo just gives me the time and the date and 7 days of steps. We get along pretty well. Been together quite a bit!!!

I will do better with the eating one day. I made a doctor's appt for end of September. That gives me a good six weeks to lose about 5+ And I'm with you, Jerred on the ice cold beer after a busy, hot day.
