Still wishing you were going to be with us
Thanks, I'd love to pull it off, but I was just there for work and it's hard to justify another trip less than a month later.

But what about Tommy S?

Yeah!! What about Tommy S??

Today's his birthday, so maybe he'll buy me an airplane ticket to HNL.

Jen does Tommy take you out in the Ferrari, and do you get to stay at the estate?

Jen, I sure hope Higgins and the lads are still around. I know you aren't coming to the show, but if by some chance that changes..... May I beg of you a tour of everything Magnum related?

If things change, sure!
But otherwise, I'll just give you directions and you can make the discoveries on your own.

How big is Oahu? If I stayed at the North Shore or on the windward side of the island how long would it take to get to Waikiki, Pearl harbor etc?

The island itself is only 600 square miles. (About 1/2 the size of Rhode Island).
It shouldn't take you TOO long to get from the windward side (Kailua/Kaneohe) to Waikiki, since you'd only be on the H-1 Freeway for just a few miles. (Providing you take the Pali Highway from Kailua into town). It's probably about 10 miles, give or take, but certain times of the day the traffic can be a nightmare.
The drive from the North Shore would take longer, but it's SO gorgeous up there, you may decide it's worth it. (I LOVE the town of Haleiwa, and actually lived in Sunset Beach for a while).
Feel free to do a google search of Oahu Island.

Windward side, 40 minutes without traffic.
North Shore, about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on where on the north shore. Again, without traffic.
But there's almost always traffic. Definitely big, bad rush hour morning and evening, like any big city.

I think that was one of the most surprising things about Oahu for me---the sheer size of the Honolulu.

Being used to the small towns in Michigan and the Caribbean, Honolulu was a major culture shock for me. Getting around in the traffic can be time consuming. We are there for vacation....but for the people who live there it's just another day of commuting to work.
It snowed again last night! I'm feeling ready for island time.

I am in for Maui. Bought a round trip ticket for $60 today.
I am in for Honolulu but will be working right up to show time. I'm sure I'll see a few of you that day though.

I'm there for two weeks, Cowboy, so if I don't see you at the concert, we can certainly get together SOMETIME while I'm there.
How about if I buy you lunch at Zippy's in Waimalu?

Maybe.
Since my "host" gives me a place to stay and a car to drive every time I go back there, I let him plan any and all social activities, except, of course, for the concert.
But I'll see if I can talk him into making a pilgramage from his house to Waikiki for some parrothead fellowship.
