You do know there is at least one person here that still hasn't made lodging arrangements. Shall we just get a big condo or hotel room and cram in all the last minute people that decide to come?

I can't make the Shell because I already have plans here in NY that weekend. I checked yesterday and I have enough miles with Delta to get to Maui and back but because of the timing of the show, what I'm doing here in NY and having to save vacation and floating days for other things later in the year I could only be there from Sunday to Wednesday. The Sunday flight I can get for free doesn't get there until about 8:30 or 9:00 at night. It almost doesn't seem worth it to make a long trip like that and really only be on the ground for 2 1/2 days.
what I really mean . . . I wish you were here

My first trip to Hawaii I had just one full day on the ground.

Anyone renting a car while in Hawaii? I know I want to see Pearl Harbor, The Cemetary of the Pacific and maybe tour/drive around the island. I figure Saturday will be tied up with JB stuff and possibly Friday depending on when Jake S. has his private party.

So those of you that have been there before do you recommend renting a car?

YES.
Rent a car. Especially if you'll be there over three days-you'll need one.
DOLLAR RENT A CAR is probably the best, as they don't charge mileage fees.
Whoever you rent a car from, make certain that there are NO mileage charges. Most all in Hawaii don't charge you for mileage, but definately make sure that's the case from whoever you rent from.
Good luck, and I'll see you in Honolulu.

I am lucky enough to be going to both shows. I have 2 extra singles for the show at The Shell. Both are terrace seats one in CC1 and the other BB1. Both are listed on the tix exchange.

Not sure. We may rent a car for a day. Most of the hotels charge a fortune to park at car at their places.

Seeing that I've never been in Hawaii... I"ll probably stay within walking distance of everything :o (so no car for me...)
I'm only going to have a day or so anyway... Jimmy's going to occupy most of my time on Saturday and Friday is likely Jake's show.....

BTW Nutmeg, did you sign up for the private party? I think I did but I haven't heard from Mitch on how I was supposed to pay for it????

Yes, I signed up for the party. I talked to Mitch on the phone last weekend. (I got my Buffett tickets through him as well)

Maybe calling him is a better option... hopefully he still has some tickets/spots available :o
He mentioned my name was on the list in the email but he didn't mention how I was supposed to pay for it, so I better confirm I'm locked in......
