Here is the website for Elk's club pre party. http://www.pauhanaparrotheads.org
You will need to join Jake's fan club to get tickets to the Friday night event. It was sold out last I heard, but they had a waiting list. Sunday night to see Jake you just need a reservation at the restaurant.

Pau Hana Parrotthead's Party Page (Scroll down for the ticket purchasing):
http://www.pauhanaparrotheads.org/5_Oclock.htm
Jake's Party:
I talked to Mitch (He's with Jake's Fan Club) and the party is full, for now. They are starting a waiting list for Friday's party.
From Mitch:
"And for the fan club party, admittance is all pre-paid and we cannot accept money at the door. Currently we started a waiting list for reservations as we hit the capacity already."
Jake is also playing a show on Sunday night at Jimmy Buffett's at the Beachcomber. No tickets needed for the Sunday show. Check Jakes website for details. http://www.jakeshimabukuro.com You can get Mitch's e-mail from the website and see if he can put you on the list. Members of his fan club are allowed to bring four guests, so you either have to know a member or just joing the club.
We are staying at the Beachcomber. We made our reservations before all of the parties started getting announced, so we are very happy. Where are you guys staying?
The next time you get mad, ask yourself the following question. Will it will matter a year from now?
If it won't, breathe in, breathe out and move on. Life is short, remember to have fun along the way.

For those of you who are going to be there early, Jake is also playing a free concert at the Embassy Suites Hotel Grand Lanai this Sunday at 4:00pm. Looks like Duke's on Sunday followed by the Embassy Suites free concert. Good way to start the week.
We're in serious countdown mode. Our flight leaves tomorrow morning at 7:00am. (Only 20 hours to go!) At this time tomorrow, we should be getting close to Salt Lake City where we have to change planes to make the jump to Honolulu.

Re: Who's going to HAWAII???
Our chapter was just given a set of tickets for the private show with Jimmy to take place on Thursday Feb 26th at JB's at the Beachcomber. We will be placing these on an Ebay auction later today, all proceeds will go towards the charities we are supporting at our party, Wounded Warriors Dog Program and Hawaii Assisted Living. Should be a fantastic opportunity to see Jimmy in his restaurant. I'll post a link here when we have the tickets listed.

Re: Who's going to HAWAII???
Thanks Lynn, but it looks like I'm going to cancel. The choice is still mine, but I have to do the smart thing. I am covering a route for someone with serious medical issues. i was told by the powers that be that they can not promise to keep me on the route if I go to Hawaii. Considering there is a good chance of this could last for several months or longer I can't chance it. Route money = guareenteed money over hotshot. Hotshot is really really slow.ladyparrothead wrote:Greg - I am thinking positive thoughts!diverg wrote:@$%#?€£+%&$@ladyparrothead wrote:Oh NO! Say it ain't so! It stinks, but for once I am going to do the smart thing. I'll just try to think positive, and plan for a trip somewhere this summer before I start teaching in the fall.
Keep thinking positive thoughts Lynn. I need to get rid of my 3rd row ticket to cut my losses. Right now I am aout about $350. Hopefully I'll get rid of the ticket, but going to be hard to do with such short notice.

If your ticket doesn't move in a day or two on the exchange, you could think about putting it on ebay at face. Or is there craigslist in Honolulu?

Re: Who's going to HAWAII???
If you've never been before, when you're in Honolulu you should visit the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, "Punchbowl Cemetery" . . . . The USS Arizona Memorial is very moving, but I think the Punchbowl is even more so.

“The National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific and the Honolulu Memorial, covering approximately 116 acres, are located in Puowaina Crater, an extinct volcano referred to in Hawaii as "Punchbowl" because of its shape. Although there are various translations of the Punchbowl’s Hawaiian name, “Puowaina,” the most common is “Hill of Sacrifice.” This translation closely relates to the history of the crater. The first known use was as an altar where Hawaiians offered human sacrifices to pagan gods and killed violators of the many taboos.”
