At any cost

So the IOC ignored China's human rights record and believed that China would do its part to pollute the environment less. It turns out that China's solution is to close factories around the Olympics.

I'm not one to support the protesting crazies that show up and cause disturbances, but in this case if they show up on the east coast, I would even consider showing up for a tear gassing. I do hope that at least 25% of the participants boycott the opening ceremonies. Congratulations China, you have made it to #1 on my list of countries I dislike most.

Thats "unamerican" China is by Bush's ideas A great trading partner. They have also "loaned" the US a couple of billion $$$ For the war. Don't worry, Most of us will be worm food by the time that the bill comes due anyway. Unlike Cuba that Oppresses free speech, and oppresses its own people................. Oh wait, Never mind.

I would put a smiley face here, but it's not funny just sad..

As it was a great trading partner by his predecessor's reasoning. At least in terms of giving them missle tech. Both parties in this country are guilty of doing this. Neither is immune and both should be ashamed.

I was not pointing fingers. Just to state that Cuba IS a smaller China. I won't be watching any of the that on TV. I have better things to do.

We are more upset over this side of the world of the IOC bowing to commercial pressure from just country - USA - to change the times of the finals to the USA prime time viewing time :x

Anyhoo - in regards to the pollution - China and USA are right up there in the top poluters in the world .......

"whilst some of this is fact - it is stated tongue in cheek" :P

I wasn't aware of this. Now I am even more annoyed.

Here is something else China leads the world in...

No such luck; SF was the only US stop on the torch tour. Just enough exposure to get publicity.

It *was* interesting watching the interesting game of "Hide the Olympic Salami" they played here though...
