Do you really think it could happen?

I think Kennedy or LaGuardia. There is a small airport on Long Island too. Larry would be the 1 to ask. I'm not really sure of your best bet. But we'll see you there!

i'm not sure i can swing it....especially if i go to AC. i have to work at least one shift that week. If AC doesn't work i will probably be able to do Jones Beach...but the other thing is the ugly traffic from my house to Jones Beach especially on a week day.

The small airport is the Islip airport, out on the island, close to JB

You have three choices:
JFK - International/Domestic flights - most flights, very crowded, about a 45 minute drive east (without heavy traffic) to Jones Beach
LaGuardia - Domestic flights - next to Shea Stadium and the World's Fair, about a 45 minute drive southeast (longer with heavy traffic) to Jones Beach
Islip- A smaller airport, easier to maneuver than JFK or LaGuardia but you need to check which airlines fly there. My mom usually flies out of Islip when she goes to Florida. I believe Southwest flies into Islip. About 30-45 minutes west to drive to Jones Beach, with the least traffic of the three airports
There aren't any hotels at Jones Beach but there are plenty of places to stay nearby. Check for hotels in Merrick, Wantagh, East Meadow and Uniondale. The Marriott in Uniondale, next to Nassau Coliseum is just off the Meadowbrook Parkway which takes you directly to Jones Beach.

Jimmy learned to play guitar in
1966:
Playing for a living. Not many people get to do that. It started for me back in 1966 when Johnny Youngblood taught me three chords on the guitar. I did it to meet girls. It worked. Fortunately that wasn’t the only thing I accomplished. There were more chords to learn and more importantly a lot of lessons in living like discovering how valuable a sense of humor is to us modern creatures. I found myself in the role of troubadour/court jester.

MacArthur Airport on Long Island would be the best bet. Southwest is the main carrier there, they have about 70-75% of the flights. Depending on traffic, it's probably 30-45 minute ride to Jones Beach from the airport.
LaGuardia is a $h!thole of an airport and should be avoided at all times, unless you can get really cheap fares.
JFK is the closest to Jones Beach and if you're staying at a hotel somewhere near a Long Island Railroad station you can avoid paying outrageous taxi fares. You can take the AirTrain from the airport to the Jamaica LIRR station, it's $5 each way, then transfer to the LIRR. If you do that, buy your LIRR tickets from a vending machine at the Jamaica station, they charge extra if you but the ticket on the train.
