I totally agree about LaGuardia, it's a crappy place which I try to avoid it if at all possible. Is there a shuttle to Jones Beach from the Wantagh LIRR station?

I don't know about a shuttle from Wantagh but there used to be a Nassau County bus that ran from the Freeport station to the beach. The only problem with that is the train station in Freeport isn't in the best part of town.

I believe I have 2 extra tix, anyone interested, pm me.

Traffic? There's no traffic when you leave as early as I do. :D :D

There's a beautiful sunrise @ the beach. :D

So that would mean the night before?!??!  :o

I think Jeanie(Docandjeanie) is looking for a ticket....i'll have to call her this weekend and see what she thinks. i have to see what vacations look like that week.
Yes, Christine, let's go!!!!

i'm not sure i can swing it....especially if i go to AC. i have to work at least one shift that week. If AC doesn't work i will probably be able to do Jones Beach...but the other thing is the ugly traffic from my house to Jones Beach especially on a week day. :-?
Well, if you can I am in, we can go up the night before and find somwhere to stay if need be, let me know!!!

i'm not sure where a good place to stay is up there....we need suggetions!!!! :o

Woooo hoooooo!!

65 more days!

Herman Wouk wrote Don't Stop The Carnival in 1965:
When Jimmy Buffett landed in Herman Wouk's Palm Springs retreat, Wouk fondly recalls that he looked like a long-haired Peter Pan in denim. Jimmy had come to obtain the rights for a musical based on Wouk's 1965 novel DON'T STOP THE CARNIVAL. Thus, a great friendship between a very oddly matched couple of creative geniuses began. The result was a short-lived but very catchy musical.

LOVE this book (and the great poster from WYK!!!! thank you Garry...) and this CD too...what songs to quote....not that clever but everything is a 1000 steps to nowhere (but I am trading in all for a pink sarong and Down is up, up is down)

JB - I would probably trade NW at JB for something obscure from DSTC (sorry teamies... :D )

But please spare us the yellow songs (aka WDWGSAS)... please??? I get the whole shareholder return thing :-? Really I do - BUT don't underestimate us hard cores....we can easily skip the yellow songs and covers and be happy with the more obscure songs.

wont disagree in principal BUT listening to BIG OLE GOOFY WORLD from Atlanta now and thinking damb - those off beat COVER songs are really quite good...better than even a better redo of WDWGDAS.

I may be stubborn as a mule tho....

see ya goof balls.....

We're driving down from Rockland County (just over the other side of the Hudson from Westchester) - about an 1 and 15 minutes to Jones Beach and my parents live in Levittown, about 15 minutes from the beach. Westchester airport is a paradise compared to LaGuardia. I try to fly out of Westchester or Newburgh when I go to Florida. The drawback to these two airports is that they have less flights and if a flight is cancelled, well, you might have to wait a while to catch another flight... like the time Jet Blue cancelled our flight to Orlando from Newburgh... we ended up renting a car on the spot and driving down.

Never used either...i'm not far from Westchester...a little over a hour...but i have Bradley ( Hartford) a 1/2 hour away..it that is a nice easy airport to get around!!...then you would be looking at a 2 and change drive to Jones Beach!!..or can be picked up by someone in the area going to Jones Beach
