Shake, Rattle and Roll............

Post by Summerlover »

and that's pretty much what we felt in central Illinois this morning. I was in the basement getting ready to work out and couldn't figure out what the lamp was vibrating. Hubby came down and said "Earthquake". He said the bed and pictures were shaking.
I couldn't feel movement but was dumbfounded as to why I was hearing rattling in the basement. My thought, no not a mouse!!

They were looking at some damage on one of our expressways trying to determine if it was from the ongoing construction, or whether it was earthquake related.

I'm still waiting to hear from a friend who moved from Chino CA to Danville IL a few months ago. First he was complaining about the endless winter and then tornados, now he gets to deal with earthquakes following him from Cali. :o

We didn't feel a thing, but it WAS at 4:30 am our time (I was in la-la land). Our daughter-in-law's parents felt it here. Mom and Dad were in Louisville in a hotel and they said it sounded like someone was banging on their door !

Now the one about 10:15 I felt. :o The chair was moving and our plant was dancing.
Brown Eyed Girl, how does your friend like Danville? Wow, what a change from Cal. to Danville, IL. Not sure if I would be happy. Hope I don't insult anyone here.

Well.....the jury is still out. He moved in Dec...right into the worst winter in recent history. It's tough being in a new place in those conditions...especially since he's become a triathlete. He's been missing his bike time a lot. He says that they will only stay there a couple years (it was a work related move), then move back. I told him that he may change his tune once he really gets settled in. Moving back to Cali probably would be impossible anyway, housing is just too out of control. But they may move to CO....which he's talked about for awhile.

An aftershock ? I didn't feel that one either. This explains why the cat is under our bed instead of on TOP of it !!!
