Get your minds out of the gutter.
I'm just curious who likes these food combinations.
I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority, but I don't like to combine these.
For example, I don't like my sausage or bacon to touch my maple syrup.
I don't like fruits with meat, such as a Hawaiian pizza, sweet/sour pork, etc.
You?

No salty/sweet?

I'd die without chocolate covered pretzels...they satisfy both cravings.
I don't do pineapple pizza either, but some fruit/meat combos don't bug me. Lemon chicken from Dave Wongs....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

You're weird.
When I played Bunco a friend of mine "invented" putting an M&M inside a Bugle. She said it tasted like a Toll House Cookie.

Of course we all had to try it...and we all had to provide Bugles and M&Ms when we hosted Bunco.

Mmmmm....hawaiian pizza, sweet & sour anything. I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Had a grilled burger with a grilled pineapple slice tonight.
I find pastrami to be the most sensual of all the salted cured meats.

Now that I like, cause the lemon isn't sweet.

Yep, we'll agree to disagree.

The only way you can make it better is to add heat.
I did a pineapple mustard chicken salad with hot sauce for dinner last night.

Gotta have the salt & sweet and fruits with my meat. Had a Hawaiian burger last night, patty w/ ham, pineapple slice and sweet & sour. mmmm good.
Better yet than a Hawaiian pizza is one that a local place makes, order almost 1 a week.....
The Twist
- Honey Mustard Sauce
- Cheese Blend
- Breaded Chicken Chunks & Bacon
Topped after baking with fresh:
- Pineapple
- Tomato
- Yellow & Jalepeno Pepper
- Homemade Ranch
Sounds crazy, but the flavors mingle perfectly. Apparently voted in the top 3 in the nation by Pizza Today Magazine last year.

MMMM-chocolate covered pretzels are wonderful.
And, Penny, sorry to disagree, but bacon and maple syrup together are great!

<<------ Another vote for chocolate covered pretzels
And I do love my Hawaiian pizza.... just to be weird I add black olives to the ham and pineapple.
Mango chutney on/in curry -- YUM!!!
And my taste buds LOVE me some brown and serve sausage drenched in maple syrup.
Different strokes.... you betcha!

Sausage and maple syrup are even better, along with the pancake of course. Salivating just thinking about it.

I like salty and sweet in the sense of peanuts in a candy bar, but I don't do pineapple on pizza or sausage in my syrup.
I do like sweet/sour pork, though, but never really thought of the fruit/sweet/meat connection there.

Love salty/sweet.....like salted nut rolls or chocolate pretzels.
I like ham/pineapple/green peppers on a pizza....about the only time I eat pig.
No sausage/bacon/maple syrup though.....blech....don't really like pig and really don't like maple syrup.
I like apricots with bbq meat......it's yummy in the sauce!

I make a killer mango avocado salsa thats great on pork and shrimp. My "Jimmy Burgers" have hamburger, canadian bacon, swiss cheese, sharp cheddar, pineapple grilled with teriyaki sauce on them. Yes, I like fruit/meat!
Hot buttered popcorn and chocolate, and M&M's and pretzels are both yummy but no longer on my diet. Yes, I like salt/sweet!

For the most part I agree but there are some exceptions. Coconut crusted shrimp. A "fruity salsa" (mango for example) on Chilean sea bass. Yum.

Chocolate covered pretzels. Yum Yum! Especially when dipped first in caramel, then chocolate then, nuts....
when camping we used to buy sausage to cook over the fire that was "maple flavored" Wonderful to crawl out of the tent and treat yourself to those....
So Penny, I guess we disagree

I love salty/sweet combos, like the chocolate covered pretzels or whatever, and I do like homemade mango salsa with chicken or fish.
I do like the Hawaiian pizza occasionally, but it's something I have to be in the mood for.
