Little Feat in Colorado

This weekend, we made a trip to CO to see BN friends and 2 Little Feat shows.

Saturday, 5-10-08, we saw Little Feat at the Paramount Theater in downtown Denver. It is a small theater with only 1,870 seats available.
http://www.denverparamount.com/history.aspx

Little Feat was sharing the bill with Hot Tuna. Neither of us was familiar with their music. I kinda like to have at least heard of some of the songs during a show. :-?

About 10:00, Little Feat hit the stage and didn't quit playing for 2 hours. It was a great show!

The next night, we went to Boulder, CO to the Boulder Theater. http://www.bouldertheater.com/history.php

Little Feat was the only band that night and they started about 8:45 and played until almost 11:00 with no intermission---and they only played 13 songs. :D
This night, they had a few guests. They had Vince Herman, Bonnie Paine, Bridget Law and one other person from Leftover Salmon that played the accordian.

One thing I love about Little Feat is they don't play the same shows 2 nights in a row. They have a huge catelog and they only repeat a few songs---Willin' and Dixie Chicken these 2 nights. :D

JB should try this

Our CO pics are here----sights of CO and and Little Feat

and 2 youtube videos

and Billy Payne solo

watch the open flame about 3:45 in the right bottom corner  :-?

The Little Feat members are so nice and friendly. When we were walking around 16th Street Mall in Denver, we walked by the venue and saw Fred and Patricia Tackett. They stopped to talk and were very nice. Patricia took our picture and we talked to them about FeatFest in Eureka Springs.
Later we spotted the red Little Feat bus and was walking toward it. We were stopped on a corner waiting for the light to change, when Billy Payne walked up behind us. We started talking to him---VERY, VERY nice. :D
We also saw Kenny Gradney, but didn't talk to him.

In Boulder, Billy walked by the front of the venue where we were all standing before they opened the doors and no one recognized him. Can you imagine Jimmy walking around town and no one recognizing him????

btw---Billy said he will NOT be touring with Jimmy this year.

No Jenny, we didn't visit your creek--maybe next time

It was great---and getting to talk to Fred and Billy made it even more special.
Both took the time to stop to talk and ask about us.
It is nice to see a group care about their fans.

Little Feat is always great!

Sounds like the 2nd show probably included a 15+ min version of Dixie Chicken. They really know how to jam!

The songs you will hear at most shows: Dixie Chicken, Willin, Fat Man and Spanish Moon. Chicken and Willin are the 2 songs I can do without. But I know there's a demand for those.
