Anyone near Atmore, AL Library?

Post by txaggirl91 »

I am in need of a book that the library has on my Great Great Aunt. It seems she was a "Notable Woman" of the late 30s - early 40s.

The Atmore, AL library is the only library in the US that has the book I am looking for.

Let me know if you can help.

I was joking... I was over there two months ago, but it is going to be a while until I get back that way. On the other hand, I think that is fairly close to where MotherHen is from, so might be able to pull a string or two. and rumour has it that folks from Mobile, Lower AL, and Montgomery are inbound for the Raleigh show... if they make it, you want me to introduce you, let you work a side deal? :)

What is the name of your local library branch? Is there a specific name for the library in Atmore? The name of the book? Might be able to do an ILL where Atmore loans the book to your branch.

Thanks!

I've put in a book request through the university I work for. Sometimes, with really old books, they do not loan them out. I should know in a week or so if I can get it.

I've also gotten a couple of PMs from people who said they may be able to help out!

Ask your local libraian to do a loan request. My librarian here has gotten me books from Florida, Georgia, even the Library of Congress. The book time limit will run from when it leaves the library of origin so be careful of how long you keep it.
