In Honor of the meaning of Memorial Day, I offer this thread for anyone who has lost a loved one, a 4legged "kid", a special Aunt or Uncle or anyone you feel want to mention.
I don't mean to be a downer, but it is especially important for people that are grieving.
May they rest in peace....we have NOT forgotten You!

Robert F. Cyr, 82, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2008, surrounded by family and friends after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born to Dan and Edith P. Cyr on Nov. 25, 1925, in Worcester, Mass. He spent his early life in the city of Keene, N.H. He was a highly decorated veteran of the Army Air Force and served with distinction in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After moving to Connecticut in 1951, he was a longtime employee of the Hefia Heating, Patterson Oil and Nutmeg Heating companies.
He was an active member of the American Legion, the Elks Club, the Torrington Civitan (Pres), the Goshen Players and St. Thomas Church. He was also an avid sports fan and found great joy from his beloved N.Y. Yankees, Boston Celtics, UConn Basketball teams and N.Y. Jets.
His devotion to his family truly inspired all who knew him. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of nearly 62 years, Madeline S. Cyr; his children, son, Dennis R. Cyr of Denver, Colo.; his daughter, Darleene C. Wadhams of Goshen; his son-in law, Fredric W. Wadhams of Goshen; his grandson, Brent A. Wadhams and his spouse, Christine Wadhams, of Trumbull; his granddaughter, Brooke W. Harris and her spouse, Sean Harris, of New Hartford; his sister, Virginia Minnick of Lyme, N.H.; his sister, Joan Joslin of Suffield; his brother-in-law, Kenneth Duquette of Jaffrey, N.H.; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
The news that his grandson and his wife would have his great-grandchild in June brought him great joy and comfort. His family and friends will miss him greatly but take solace in the fact that he will live forever in their hearts and fondest memories. The family truly appreciates all the love and concern shown to them during the past year.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Goshen. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Rowe Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
