Re: BN Critters - MEMORIAL DAY
A VETERAN — male or female, whether on active duty, discharged, retired, reserve or passed away — is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America for an amount of up to and including their life.
We go on and on about role models and heroes. A veteran is a true hero and role model. When you see a veteran today, thank him or her for our freedom.
And this has nothing to do with supporting the Democrats, or the Republicans, or the war. It is all about supporting a human being, just like you and I, who did what had to be done.

Re: BN Critters - MEMORIAL DAY
My dad and several uncles served in the South Pacific during WWII. All but one have passed on. This picture's for them.
Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?
Bobby: No.
Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

Recycled again. Because I can't find a better way to say "thank you" to those who died for my freedom.

....and not just those who died, but also to those who were willing to, if that's what it took.....but you're right SP, this thread will never get old.....and I think it should be brought back year after year for Memorial Day.surfpirate wrote:Recycled again. My favorite strip. And I agree with Chris this should be brought back every year. Thank you to those that have served to give us our freedoms that we have today.

Nice! Thank you!
And a special 'THANK YOU' to all those who serve our great country.
All Heros... past, present and future. May we never forget.

Still fits. And as they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."surfpirate wrote:Recycled again. Because I can't find a better way to say "thank you" to those who died for my freedom.
Maybe you're starting a tradition of your own, too, just like the Chicago Tribune did when they would run the same "Injun Summer" drawing and story in their Sunday magazine section every fall.
