Boston Celtic/Detroit Piston Series?? Anyone Care?

Post by Dr.Corona »

So the Celtic/Piston series takes on a differenct look every night. It's now 2-2 with a best of 3 left to advance to the NBA finals. I'm sure non basketball fans could care less, but there MUST be a couple hoops fans outside the 2 cities that are watching. What's your take?
As a Piston fan, I'd like to say Detroit will overcome Boston's homecourt advantage but I'm not gonna play homer on this one.
K.G. & company will prevail. :(

I'm going with the Celtics for three reasons:

1) KG
2) Billups' leg is still not right
3) the stinkin' Pistons have knocked out the Magic the last two years

If you're asking who cares shouldn't that be one of the options in the poll? I don't give a s*** about basketball, I only opened the thread so I could vote "Who cares?" and it's not there.

don't know who will win. but I do know that this is the worst basketball I have seen in years; especically for a Conference Final. Last night was painful (not because the Celts lost) and the series in general has been sloppy and inconsistent. Its like they are nervous highschool kids.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

4) The NBA wants a Celtics Lakers final....and NBA games are for the most part fixed. Case in point, last night the refs did everything they could to hand that game to the Celtics, at one point the Celtics had something like 30-9 free throw advantage. The problem was they couldn't hit a field goal.

Reasons against the Celtics: Doc Rivers, he is just a bad coach, luckily for him Flip Saunders isn't much better.

So far this season, regular games and playoffs each has won on the other teams home-court twice. :-?

the celts hit their free throws. It was their field goals they couldn't make, ended up shooting sometyhing like 38%. pretty much until midway through the third quarter more of their points were from the line than the field.

The title of the thread originally said "Who cares?" It's since been changed. I was going to vote for the "who cares" option but it wasn't there.

Just curious, since you rarely post in any threads except for the concerts you're going to or sports-related threads and if you don't open threads you have no interest in, how do you see my pictures?

The thread asked a question. I was going to answer it. I didn't realize there were rules about who can and can't answer questions here, I guess I didn't get the memo.

I never stalked anyone. Well, maybe Heather but I told her I was harmless and she must have believed me because we still keep in touch.

I watched the documentary on Nanking. Fascinating. Probably should start a thread about it but too lazy . . . highly recommend it.

I did watch the last 15 minutes of the Celtics game. It was quite bad. I miss Marty Conlon.

Eye-witness to it many times, it is a sad sight [smilie=sadtard.gif] . I keep waiting for the white van to show up to fit you with a Hannibal Lector mask......

It is painful to watch sometimes. The game has no flow. And with the betting scandal last season and a ref admitted he and other refs, coaches and players were involved it is hard to watch and not think that every close call was made for another "financial" reason.

And these pregame introductions are out of control, what happened to the days when they just announced the players. The PA announcers have no become a huge part of the game :-?

I watched a documentary about Limestone prisons on MSNBC, good stuff... while the Celtics game was on the lower TV muted. At my home office I have two TV on top of each other so I can watch two things at the same time...come sin handy during football season.

pre-game intros have gotten way out of control. I thought it was silly that the Celts have this huge overblown dramatic theatrical intoduction to the team after they just lost 2 games to the worst team in NBA playoff history (Hawks). Announce the names and get on with it. Leave the Broadway production for Broadway :-?
