Well thanks to your all's help, I've got a bunch of recommendations for places to eat at in St. Augustine. I've narrowed them down to about 9, but will only be there for 3 days (and we don't eat breakfast out). Anybody want to help me narrow down?.........

A1A Aleworks
Sunset Grille on A1A
Conch House
Saltwater Cowboys
O'steen's fried shrimp
Cap’s on the Water
Son of a Fish
The World Famous Oasis
South Beach Grill

Forgot one.. The Columbia. Best Cuban food outside Ybor (where the mother restaurant is, and this is owned by one of the brothers) and KW

Saltwater Cowboys has decent food but the location kicks ass as it is located on top of a tidal flat.

I love the South Beach Grille. Great fried shrimp and location.

The jerk chicken and honeydew daquiris are great at The Conch House Lounge and there's live music out in the bar on the dock at night.

I've been to Saltwater Cowboys a few times and have never been disapointed. Well except for the first and last time I had frog legs...yuck!

Caps on the Water is great and is right on the intracoastal.

The Outback Crab Shack on the outskirts of St Auggie might be worth a visit too.

Right now my new favorite joint is called Mango Mangos and is right on A1A. Great food and Buffett tunes palying in the background.

Don't forget to hit the Palm Bay Republic store in oldtown. Lots of Buffett stuff there.

Caps is another good one. In the early 90s I dropped a good chunk of change at Palm Bay Republic. They seemed to have every item that CS made at the time.

I'll agree with Columbia.

Go for lunch, it's pretty reasonable then. The 1905 salad is great along with the Cuban Sandwich. You can get a half salad and half cuban sandwich during lunch.

There are also plenty of entrees to choose from.

Save room for dessert, try the Brazo Gitano "Cien Años". It's wunnerful.

They also have Free Parking behind the restaurant.

Take a walk down the street before going back to your car to the east about a block to Claude's Chocolates for Belgian Chocolates.

For a quick no frills lunch or afternoon snack hit Hazel's Hot Dog stand on the North side of Saint Augustine. Hotdogs with various toppings and hand cut Fries. It's worth the stop

Sorry this is very late, I have not been able to look at the forum for some time now. Just a couple of comments for what it's worth.

CAP's read my review on trip advisor "The view is their only strong point".
We live only a few blocks away and rarely go there. Over priced, can't make any substitutions, they only want to turn tables and the food is just not that good.

Son of a Fish is (sadly) gone, another restaurant is opened in it's place but I haven't been.

Kingfish grill is good (At Camachi cove).

The beachcomber on St auggie beach is good and a cheap dive.

Schooners is a good family style joint, always fresh fish. It was in either Southern or Coastal living, I can't remember which, as the best Dive, although it's not what I consider a dive.

The others mentioned are very good, A1A, Columbia, Sunset Grill, Oasis, etc.

Others that are good to very good in no particular order; Raintree, The Cianti room, LaPentola, Opus 39, Cortesse's, Fusion Point (Sushi), Benito's (Vilano), Florida Cracker, 95 Cordova, OC White's, Gypsy Cab Company, Creekside (same as Saltwater Cowboy), and the little french pastry shop on Aviles st, that I can never remember the name of.

Some places I dislike;

Harry's
Santa Maria (never been but it's a tourist trap and I've never heard anything good).
O'Steen's (not that good for a hour+ wait)
Milltop
the White Lion
Barnicle Bill's
Too Can Terry (Vilano)

Feel free to PM me with any local questions, and I hope this helps someone in the future.
