Ticket prices

Post by LakeHopJohn »

Dear Mr. Buffett. $201.50 + fees for floor, loge and most mez tickets @ MSG?! $100+ for upper level nose bleed seats?! I've been to over 20 of your concerts in 5 different states and you continue to p*** me off more and more ever year. Do you really need the $$? We know you don't. How about doing a tour where you thank the loyal parrotheads for years of devotion where the most expensive ticket is $50? You have the most loyal fans out there and you know that no matter what you charge most PH's will pay it so every tour you add a few more dollars to the price. Show some gratitude one of these tours. No need to tell me that there are $60 tickets for the show either. There are very few and the seats s***.

John - Lake Hopatcong NJ.

You always have the option of staying home if you think the tickets are too expensive.

Yep....and I will not be going to MSG this time. I will always love the music but I do not respect the price gauging....especially considering the current economic situation.

Since I have been buying gas for many years and paying the gas tax maybe the gov't will take notice and allow us to pay $.95/gal for a year or so  (A loyal gas buyer both 87 and 100ll)

One thing I've always been curious about - the folks who think Jimmy (or any other performer) owe them cheap tickets simply because they have purchased tickets, CDs, etc in the past - do they ever go into work and say "Hey boss, . Since you have paid me for my work all these years, I'm gonna cut you a break and work for half of my normal salary this year."?

Really, it's the exact same thing they are requesting from the artist.

Huh? That logic makes no sense. My opinion is JB keeps raising his prices because he knows he can and I don't respect that. Again...that's my opinion. Have I paid these prices before? Yep. Will I NEVER go see him again? Doubt it. I vented....I feel better....now I'm off to drink my lunch.

But this is different, we know Jimmy doesn't need the money.

venting....whining.....doesn't matter, it's not making the ticket prices go down.

It is what it is......not much we can do about it. There are only two choices we've got, pay the price and see a great show and phlock with friends OR save your money and listen on RM.

Two economic factors at work here my friend...

One supply and demand... demand goes up or in this case stays high and supply therefore goes down and prices go up.

The other...

Gas prices for Mr. Buffett like yours have gone up as well. Mr. Buffett has to pay the increased costs for gas to get to MSG just like you do and therefore his prices are going to go up.

I know... I know. I don't think my posting to BN will reduce ticket prices. I am not that powerful......yet. Go to the show....enjoy.....I was just stating my opinion. The shows will still sell out. When they stop selling out JB will take notice.

not exactly. there was plenty of demand for lawn seats at all the concerts I've been to this year. Not so much for Pavillion. more than a few speculators have been eating it on those upper end seats.

A concert for loyal parrotheads with ticket prices less than $50... sounds like Paris to me

35 euros per ticket and a 12.50 euro service charge? That isn't less than $50.

I like pavilion tickets. Kind of like 'rain insurance'. And 'anti-puking on me' insurance. And 'no strange smells' insurance. 8) 8) 8) [smilie=battingeyes.gif]
