do you tip the delivery guys? It will be for a sofa and love seat, no stairs but pain in the butt doorways. If so how much? Would ten bucks be appropriate or is tipping just wrong in this situation?

Tipping has gotten way out of hand.
Local Dunkin' Donuts has a tip jar on the counter...WTF?
As for the furniture guys, offer them a cold drink when they are done - nothing more. Don't be a cog in the over-tipping machine.

I always have a cold drink for them. If they are unprofessional or mark up a wall no way I am giving more than a soda. If they are very courteous, personnable, etc I will give them $10.

I wouldn't tip them, but I would offer them something cold to drink (if it is hot out and vice versa if it is cold) and a snack of whatever I had on hand. If they did an exceptional job, write a letter to their boss letting them know that.
Tipping these days is ridiculous.

No tipping for delivery here. I've already paid for delivery.
Those guys barely want to get the stuff in the door before they're outta there. (Between my home & my rentals, I've had plenty of stuff delivered)
It's not like they'll set it up for you (unless you pay extra for that service).

I too would offer them a drink and a thank you. If they did a great job I'd write a letter. It's not like they are using their truck or buying the gas to deliver the furniture.

I can hear the blender churning right now....
personally, I would tip them. or I'd flash them. one would ensure good service, one would ensuse a speedy exit.

We had a few matresses delivered by some Mexicans, so I offered
them tequila.

No tip. I'll tip a waitress if the service was good and my hairdresser if she doesn't annoy me that is all.

I've never thought about tipping delivery guys but I def wouldn't have tipped the guys that brought my couch, love seat and mattress they drop my love seat off my porch about 1/2-1 story. That was fun watching you special ordered Italian leather couch laying on the ground.
