Biggest Buffett Fan Ever?

Post by Mr. Key West »

I bet I will get some crap for this but here I go..... I just watched the Biggest Buffett Fan clip on the front page and....I don't think so! A big fan sure but the biggest! I don't think so. I thought about entering the contest myself but I have been around some pretty big Parrotheads out there. So I thought to myself there will be some guy out there that has seen 100+ Buffett shows going back to a time before mine I no matter what I do there is no way. The only thing the "Biggest Buffett Fan" has on me is that he first saw Jimmy back in '78. That is awesome and all but that is something that I simple can't compete with. So does it really count? Here my story!!
I first saw Buffett back in '94 for the Fruitcakes Tour in Phoenix, AZ. Right know I'm 24 years old. This guy said he has seen Jimmy about 25 times dating back to '78. That really can't be all the much in comparison to others. I have seen him between 24-30 times. All but two of them dating back only form The Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays Tour and I missed a tour, The Salty Peace of Land Tour because it included no stops at Alpine Valley. Alpine Valley a theater that the biggest fan never said he made a stop at. I have all the albums! CD and Vinal! Tons of shirst(never counted but way less then 96), tons for tick ass framed Tour posters, all my tickets stubs, Margaritaville Tequail etc...... I saw nothing in the clip that I do not have in my home at this very moment. Outside of the Landshark beer. Nice score on that stuff by the way. And I will say this and say It with pride! There is no one that has been around Jimmy music the way I have. I know it, love it, and for the most part Live it! I'm not saying that I'm the biggest Jimmy fan out there. I am saying that this guy is not. Sorry. Maybe next year I will make a movie. But that might take away for all the crazy ass adventure I will embark on and if I'm makeing a movie about me then I can't listen to Buffett while I'm driving to my next climbing adventure!!!!
Fins Up!
See you all at Alpine Vally and Toyota Park!!!!

I'm not upset that hey won. I'm just saying maybe we should think about calling the biggest Buffett fan. More like look at the guy with all the Buffett shirts! When it comes to being the biggest fan number of shows really factors in. He should be saying "I seen Buffett play 96 times and I have something like 25 shirts. But maybe I should get off my high horse. They guy is growing his hair just like Buffett.

Is it better to blindly follow? Like the masses that vote so they can b****. That is the reason we are where we are now. And most importantly not my point. I'm talking about the label of "Biggest Buffett Fan" and the person, if any, who can hold that clam. So get off this "it's like not voting and then speaking your mind" stuff and focus on the subject. Sweet!

I have a coffee mug my kids gave me last Father's Day that says World's Greatest Dad. I have a t-shirt somewhere that also says the same.

Do NOT tell me I am not. I have the mug to prove I am.

Puh-leeze. It was a fun contest for those who entered, that's all. His "title" isn't robbing anyone else of anything.

I can't say because I didn't see any other of the entries, but 25 concerts isn't much.

Is not that much. And can't we all agree that that has a lot to do with it?

and it may not be robbing anyone of anything. But least say you called Rex Grossman the Great Quarterback ever. Do you not think Brett Frave may be a bit let down by the groups standers of quality?

Is he the biggest Buffett fan, maybe, maybe not. But it is hard in my opinion to cast judgment when who knows how many videos were submitted, or what the content was of the other videos. This year will be concert number 10, and 11 for me. My friends and co-workers know me as a huge Jimmy fan, and I would like to think that as well. Anyone can where coconuts as bikinis and make there cab in their truck into a pool, but does that make them a bigger fan then the next? I also have friends who say " I am such a huge Buffett fan", but when I ask them to name other songs that are not included on the SYKBH album, they scratch their head. What I'm getting at is anyone can say they are a HUGE Jimmy fan, but the label really is irrevelant and the winner compiled one of the better videos and congrats to him. And how many other people have their house decked out like that, and where only Buffett shirts? I give him credit, some of those must be rank over the years!

Hey, a person could be a "biggest fan" and have never even made it to a concert.....it's about the music, folks.....and the attitude......

My guess is that Kenny Chesney would be his biggest fan.

He is short.
And when I saw a Corona ad the other day with him in it, I
almost puked. Could he be any more of a Buffett-wannanbe?

Two questions:

1. Who cares?

2. Who cares, especially seeing how the contest was offered by a ticket scalping company as a marketing tool.

Also, usually those who call themselves the "biggest" or "greatest" are usually the biggest or greatest tool.

It was just a contest to give away free tickets.

Its Kind of like the show "the Biggest Loser" - I'm sure whoever wins that contest isn't the biggest loser EVER....just the biggest loser of those who entered

Next time...ENTER.
