Awesome Blind Octipi!!!!
Captain Henrichsen of the 5 masted ship Preussen hailed from Wyk. He eventually retired from the sea and tended the fields around his home. Story goes the while tending the potatoes he lost his wedding ring in the soil....he and his wife searched but never found it......several years after loosing the ring, while cutting into a freshly cooked potatoe....he finds the ring inside the potatoe!! Captain Henrichsen is my great-great grandfather.....I have his wedding band and his shipboard pocket chronometer........

That's an incredible story. Something that would have my genealogist mother-in-law sitting you down and forcing you to write every detail so that the story is logged down to never be forgotten.

So far only passed word of mouth....I am the only child of my generation as my Aunt had no children and I am an only child.....When the Chronometer was passed to me, my wife had it cleaned and checked out....the local watch shop keeper was a little in awe of it...pre civil war in running condition with the external marine case intact.....still has the watch shops card inside it....
