I don't have one. Well my wife and I share one, but she always has it. Especially when she is on the road with the kids in the car.

I've left mine home a couple of times. After having a cell phone for so long it felt strange not having it sitting on my desk at work but I got over it. I have no life so I rarely get any calls anyway.

Typically the only person who calls me on my cell phone is hubby, so a day without my phone ringing is a welcome one. Plus, he ass-dials me at least twice a day. My cell phone is mostly for making outgoing calls and sometimes texting stuff. I can send pictures via text now, though, that is pretty nifty.

I can't ass-dial, the keys on my phone are too small.

I didn't turned mine on daily----it was only for emergencies.

BUT, when Mother started having tests and heart surgery, I started carrying mine with it ON and now, I do feel lost when it isn't in my pocket.......I guess I'm now umbilical connected.

I'm not tethered to my phone, although it seems like the only time I actually need my phone are the times I've left it at home.

I usually just call the wife from the store trying to figure out if she wants 2 avocados or 10, since the shopping list just says "avocados". :D

I'm notorious for leaving my phone in the car or at home and I'm ok with that. Sometimes I just want a break from it. If it's important - leave a message.

I agree completely. There is something freeing when you know that you are disconnected. That there is a time period, even if it is simply in the car, that you cannot be reached. Solitude in the hyperconnectivity that is today's rat race.

I don't get (or make) very many calls, but I like having it with me.
I feel disconnected without it, but I don't worry too much if I forget it.
I just hate to be out of touch in case my elderly Mother needs to reach me. :-?
Some people never find it, some only pretend
But me, I just want to live happily ever after every now and then.

I tend to misplace my whole purse. The last time I left my purse I drove about 75 miles to meet a friend and left it with the phone in it at home. It's very hard to find a pay phone anymore and I had to make do until I got home. Needless to say I drove very carefully as my driver's license was also in my purse. I felt more lost without my phone than anything!

I completely understand, and only wish I was in "that place". My reaction is situational - I was in that place, on island time, over the weekend - it was great, and I couldn't have cared less! However, in my current back to reality, I feel like I'm missing important connections.

(But, my youngest finally figured it out, and dialed my work number to reach me.)

Tom runs somewhere without his phone about once a week- I always notice it when I try to call him to add one more thing to the list.

I couldn't do anything with my phone at my old job, so I'm kind of over it, but once the business gets started I'm sure it will be a tether.
