I have never seen this one or Barritts. I have a sister who lives in Ithaca NY. They have a small micro-brewery. In addition to the different beers they do root beer and ginger beers. They have the best ginger beer I"ve ever had. If you are ever in the Ithaca area pick up the ginger beer from Ithaca Brewing Co.

Would you be referring to Saranac ginger beer? If so, I agree it's a good substitute for Barritt's. For those living in the Annapolis, MD area check out Forest Drive Liquors for Barritt's. They are reportedly one of the largest sellers of Barritt's in the US and sell it in cans by the case.

I will try have to try to find Regatta ginger beer, too. When making Dark 'n Stormies just avoid any of the "grocery store" brands marked "Jamaican style ginger beer". Way too much bite that overwhelms the drink......

Ithaca Brewing Company is even smaller then Saranac. I prefer Ithaca but it's got a bit of a bite. I will be visiting my sister in a couple weeks and will get a case or two. I like to have it around for when you feel like you're getting sick or have a sore throat.
Their beer is good also. Here's a link.

Well supposedly the Barrits brand has been retired or there was a name change to Regatta. That's what I was told but I looked on the web to find out more info on it and couldn't.

Not sure why the rumor of Barritt's demise or merger seems to surface from time to time, but here's their current website: http://www.barrittsgingerbeer.bm/index.html

Their ginger beer for Dark & Stormies is the original and still the best! :pirate:
