I love the internet!!!!In movies, license plate numbers or other numbers often have special meaning. The Bluesmobile's license plate number is Illinois BDR 529. This number refers to a bike club in Aykroyd's home turf of Toronto, the "Black Diamond Riders". The clubhouse was located at that city's 529 Jarvis Street.

Bummer. I didn't do my "pre-strip research" well enough.
The license plate I used in the strip is
not the one from the movie (damb! it was supposed to be).
I was trying to locate an image of the car to use as a model when I created the car used in today's strip,
that was the license plate on one that I found when I googled Blues Brothers Car.
It must have been the plate from a tribute car at a car show or something. Oh well.
Here's the actual plate used in the movie. Next time I'll do my research a little better.

interesting. Evidently at the time, downtown Toronto was a bit rougher than it is now. That address is only a couple blocks away from the Ontario Chapter of Chartered Accountants.Staredge wrote:Nopealphabits wrote:I meant the one in the strip (or was that also the plate # on the Bluesmobile?)RinglingRingling wrote:on the car in the strip, on the Bluesmobile, or what?alphabits wrote:But what is the significance of the license number: EC1755???

Tho, completely useless trivia: The Blues Brothers have one other tie-in to Toronto thru Ackroyd. The Downchild Blues Band based out of there is the basis for the band.
