The Zac Brown Band

Post by Wildh2oskier »

Dredged up from a long long time ago in a summer far far away.......

OK I saw this act at Oak mountain in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago and it was really amazingly satisfying.
Who else has heard of them? They fit into a parrotheads playlist quite easily.
Heres a link to their website, I think you owe them a listen. I recommend their songs "Toes" "Where the Boat leaves from" "Chicken Fried" and "A Different Kind of Fine".
In fact I nominate "Toes" as the official summer of 2008 Beach Theme song.
Ya'll enjoy.

I have been listening to them for a few months, and they have a tight, professional sound and some great tunes........should really fit in any PH's rotation. Hope to see them live soon. Their website is

http://zacbrownband.com/index.php

and they are touring fairly strong right now. Maybe if enough requests are called in to RM, Steve Huntington, et al, we might get to hear them on the air.

Is it just me, or do some of their songs sound a lot like Corey Smith?

I heard them on the regular radio in Tuscaloosa twice today. So they seem to be picking up some airtime which is good.

I actually know him pretty well, he married a good friend of mine from high school and I do some writing with a guy in his circle. He's breaking through on the radio in atlanta and everyone is catching on. You should try to find some of his live cuts.... there's a lot of great stuff he hasn't released

TOES

I got my toes in the water, ass in the
sand

Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand

Life is good today. Life is good today.

Well, the plane touched down just about 3 o'clock

And the city's still on my mind

Bikinis and palm trees danced in my head

I was still in the baggage line

Concrete and cars are there own prison bars like this life I'm living in

But the plane brought me farther.

I'm surrounded by water

And I'm not going back again

I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand

Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand

Life is good today. Life is good today.

Adios and vaya con dios

Yeah I'm leaving GA

And if it weren't for tequila and pretty senoritas

I'd have no reason to stay

Adios and vaya con dios

Yeah I'm leaving GA

Gonna lay in the hot sun and roll a big fat one

And grab my guitar and play

Four days flew by like a drunk Friday night as the summer
drew to an end

They couldn't believe that I just couldn't leave

And I bid adieu to my friends

Because my bartender she's from the islands

Her body's been kissed by the sun

And coconut replaces the smell of the bar and I don't know if its her or the
rum

I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand

Not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand

Life is good today. Life is good today.

Adios and vaya con dios

A long way from the lake

Its where all the muchachas they call me "big poppa" when I throw pesos their
way

Adios and vaya con dios

A long way from GA

Someone do me a favor and pass me the Jaeger

And I'll grab my guitar and play

Adios and vaya con dios

Going home now to stay

The senoritas don't care-o when there's no dinero

You got no money to stay

Adios and vaya con dios

Going home now to stay

With my ass in a lawn chair

And toes in the clay

Not a worry in the world a PBR on the way

Life is good today. Life is good today.

I have recently been introduced to the music of the Zac Brown Band and I think they're great. Their songs are fun and also have good lyrics. To me he sounds a lot like Hugo Duarte.

OK, I hadn't heard of them till this week. I was reading the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and they have a little segment "What are you lsitening to?" And Kid Rock was the featured person.

He said he and his son were on vacation and listened to ZBB over and over and he loved everything from the music, to the lyrics, to the style.

I went to iTunes listed to all the samples and immediately bought the whole album. I will be watching for them to come to our area and will definitely go to the show.

So, oddly enough, Kid Rock turned me on to the Zac Brown Band.

Hey everyone, been away for a while, but Jolena and I are doing quite well in our new married life together.

Anyway, I think the Zac Brown Band is pretty cool. The Whaleshark (www.thewhaleshark.com), turned me on to them at Alpine Valley this summer. Erik played some of the ZBB songs during his intermission in the Alpine parking lot.
To Jolena...

I'm on top of the world, lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
You're love's put me at the top of the world

I recommend ZBB to all.
Jimmy stares
Towards the bright Pleiades
It's so strange
What his distant eye sees
Who knows why you start
Rediscovering your heart
But you do it again and again

The ZBB is smooth like the first drink of the evening. Easy to listen to but not easy listening. Tallent far beyond the reach of KC. 8)
