I guess these anti-trend setters don't realize that PBR is brewed by Miller Brewing.ragtopW wrote: there are a group of pholks around here that sit around and tell themselves how "cool" they are.. one element of being "cool"

they choose PBR as a the drink of choice. (unless you buy them a beer)
in which case they tell you how much better PBR is and "really"

I believe Pabst licenses PBR to Miller and brewing is done by MBC. I'm relying on the always accurate wikipediaI'm an Altered Boy wrote: Not by Pabst brewing Co.?

"All of the brewer participants prosper," Weinberg added. "Miller gains two advantages. As a supplier to a large contract brewing company, namely Pabst, Miller can utilize its capacity, thereby reducing production costs, and generating profit that could be used for marketing support of Miller Brands. Second, Miller has acquired an entree into a niche market, malt liquor, and they have Hamm's, a label they can redevelop. Pabst, start- ing from a position that is four times its existing position, becomes the 4th largest brewer. Pabst has very low overhead costs... Virtually all costs are variable. It gives them the opportunity to harvest brands."
there is a whole trendy "to cool for school" group that worships at the PBR alter. Lot's of goths and emos and your general underground independents flock to it. I would drink it anywhere i saw it b/c to me it's always had a kinda funky aura about it...and i love the maniacal plug from Dennis Hopper for PBR in the movie Blue Velvet. (Heineken!! F@%K that S*!t!! PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!!) NSFW http://youtube.com/watch?v=snhiofL2Rh4 I had some on tap just the other day at Charlie's in Somers Point NJ. The resurgence of PBR started a couple years ago. Here are a couple articles talking about PBRs comeback from 2003 from a couple small papers called the NY Times and the Washington Post.ragtopW wrote:there are a group of pholks around here that sit around and tell themselves how "cool" they are.. one element of being "cool"pojo wrote:gee thanks wayne.... song is stuck in my head!!!!!!!!!
