Buffett on XM

Post by Finnsaremorefun »

Does anyone know if there is any of XM's bajillion stations which plays Buffett? I know Sirius is the 'flagship' but I was wondering if he trickles across the XM waves at all?

Yes. I've heard him on several of XM's many channels.

We don't hear him often on XM. I am going to say it's pretty unusual.

I've heard him on Deep Tracks, X-Country, The Loft, the Starbucks channel and others. I believe there's a way to search for artists and what channels they're being played on the xm411.com site.

I'm not sure where it is but someone has pointed it out to me before. If it's not there it may be on XM's official site.

Same for me, but my bf told me he heard the FCC struck down the merge. Not sure if that is correct. We had already decided to change to Sirius when our XM contract is up if it's true. Anyone else know if Sirius/XM merge still a go?

I have Buffett as one of my saved artists on XM. 9 times out of 10 it's Margaritaville being played, although I've heard Wondering Where The Lions Are and Off to See the Lizard on the kids channel.
Love in the library, quiet and cool.

It's been approved, or at least not stopped, at every step in the process I've seen so far.

It seems like there are a few democratic senators that are trying to block the merger.

What's the problem if people aren't hearing enough Buffett on XM anyway? It's not like you can't listen to one of his CDs. I subscribed for the wide variety of music they feature, especially the type that doesn't meet the criteria of commercial radio these days as well as the songs you rarely hear anymore.

Ok, I finally did a search and these are the stations Buffett plays on, albeit rare:

The Blend, 25
The 70's, 7
XM Kids, 116
X Country, 12
Deep Tracks, 40
Top Tracks, 46
Highway 16, 16
The Loft, 50
Cinemagic, 27
America, 10

Now how many other artists could fit into ALL those categories?

Am I country, pop or rock and roll
I know they are related
I’ll just let you be the judge
Of simply complicated

For your general entertainment and amusement, Mr. OttoCal found this on the XM fan site, there are some pretty funny comments in the thread.

"No Shoes Radio" is the first radio station in the world dedicated to the music and lifestyle of Kenny Chesney, today's biggest country music superstar! Airing exclusively on XM channel 18.

"No Shoes Radio" is a 24/7 destination for all things Chesney - featuring music from Chesney's audio catalog, including never-before-heard recordings, an uncut, exclusive concert broadcast from the 2008 Poets & Pirates Tour, plus random drop-ins from fans, friends and plenty of music to bring to life the attitude that permeates Kenny Chesney's world. Kenny will take listeners backstage on his "Poets & Pirates Tour" for exclusive access to the "Vibe Room" and his tour bus and feature conversations and jam sessions with friends like Sammy Hagar, Steve Miller, Keith Urban, and more! Plus, listeners will travel with Kenny to the Caribbean and get a first-hand insight into his island life! Get the true Kenny Chesney experience on "No Shoes Radio," exclusively on XM!

"No Shoes Radio" will be available on XM channel 18 from July 26 through October 25. The channel will also be on XM Radio Online (http://xmro.xmradio.com), where it will stream for an additional three months.

A station dedicated to those lucky souls who are running short on time.
"He answered that nobody but himself and the Devil knew where it was, and the longest liver should take all." - as quoted by Edward "Blackbeard" Teach

I am looking forward to the Kenny station!

On XM I hear Jimmy on Top Tracks (Margaritaville), '70's (Margaritaville, Come Monday) and also The Blend. I have heard deeper tracks on well, Deep Tracks and The Loft but not often. I have also heard Fins on '80's but only once. I can't wait for the merger so I can subscribe to Radio Margaritaville which is now limited to my computer for me. I just know No Shoes radio will have to play some Jimmy!

Wow thats the first non-sirius station I am sad to have missed. Maybe he will find his way over someday. KC rocks.
