Stories behind the music

In my recent trip to Key West a couple of weeks ago, I took the "Trails and Tales of Key West" tour and learned the story behind a couple of Buffett's songs, which were fascinating. Does anybody know if there is a collection of stories out there that explain the stories behind each of his songs?

Unfortunately, some of the stories contradict each other, depending on who's telling the tale and when...

If you have or buy the 4-disc set "Boats, Beaches, Bars, & Ballads" you'll find the "Parrothead Handbook" in which JB supposedly gives the "official" background on most of the songs on the CDs......

Sounds like you had a great first trip to KW.....when are you going back? You know now why they say "You can't visit the Keys just once."

I do have the box set w/ handbook, but learned a few more fascinating facts about other songs not included in that handbook.

Well, this wasn't exactly my first trip to KW. I have been there on two previous occasions with cruise boats. Unfortunately, those only consisted of a few hours. This was my first time staying for a few days. Absolutely loved it! Ready to go back now, but wallet and wife say no.

I'll definatley go back, but I don't know when.

As others say, then the "story behind the song" depends on who is telling the story......

Did you check my response in your thread under "Changes in Latitudes" where another BNer asked about Tim's version of "Woman Gone Crazy On Caroline Street?" Just curious if he told you the same thing!

In about 20 hours I will be driving down Duval to begin my "Pirate Looks At Forty" week. I cannot wait. Hope to find some new places to try.
