Any BNers Do Beaded Jewelry?

Post by Bfan53 »

Over the past year or so Mrs. Bfan53 aka Chris has taken up making beaded jewelry. And, in my humble opinion, she has gotten quite good at it, too! Many of our friends ask if she sells her jewelry and, although she hasn't to date, she is seriously considering doing so.

I was just curious if any other BNers also create their own beaded jewelry. If so, let me know in this thread or send me a PM or email and I'll put you in touch with my wife. I think she'd love to chat with fellow beaders, share ideas, find some good online forums, and learn if any others have taken their hobby to a business level.

Thanks everyone.......

If she's interested in selling it, there's a website, www.etsy.com it's a place for people to buy/sell handmade craft stuff.

Nutmeg's stuff is SO nice I'm going to try to learn how to do it. Not to sell, just for myself and friends. I'm SOOO not a crafty person but those are just so cool.

I used to do some bead jewelry. I had to give it up—it's too hard to do on a boat! My favorite "going out" necklace is one I made years ago with hematite and other semi-precious stones and antique gold hearts. It always gets a lot of compliments, and I feel very glamorous when I wear it. [smilie=battingeyes.gif]

Beads? Did you say Beads?

I do several kinds of beadwork. Bead weaving with seed beads. Stringing with Gemstones. Making polymer clays beads. I make earrings, bracelets, necklaces. My things are for sale in a small shop on our Main Street.

I'd be glad to be in contact with your wife.

I was quite the bead guy a few years ago on grateful dead tour. I have experience in making and selling, but have not done it in years. I will share with her what I know if she has any questions....

Does your shop have a website? I've seen pictures of some of your bracelets and loved them!

I've done some beaded jewelry. But as soon as I get some down time I want to find a way to make bezels for sea glass which I"ve become obsessed with.
