Stitches and Broken

Post by SMLCHNG »

Today I was talking with my boss because I was getting my stitches out of my feet after surgery 2 weeks ago.

He said he's never had stitches or anything broken! :o

That kind of surprised me, as I've had many stitches since childhood, and broke an arm and a few toes.

Have you?

Seven stitches in chin after falling off bike, age 4.

Nothing broken until 31 years old rolled over my little toe with buggy in supermarket.

From head (stitches) to (broken toe) and points in between. :lol:

I never planned on being this old or I would've taken better care of myself.

I've done it all, here is a quick list:

Stitches;
My dog bit me on the cheek 12 stitches
Cut my hand on an exacto knife 7 stitches
wrecked my bike/split my head on ground 20 some stitches
cut my foot on a can lid 9 stitches

Broken;
Wrist in 2 places- bike wreck
ankle- basketball
hand in 3 places- "boxers fracture" (punched wall :roll: )
middle finger- football
big toe (twice same one)- volleyball/dropped weight on it

I actually am quite athletic but by this list it looks like I'm a clutz

You really don't want to know the gory details :roll: , but yes.
I've had both.

Oh, & BTW, my son (9) currently has a broken foot, which has brought a screeching halt to his baseball season & many other summer activities. :roll:

Oh no! It is bad enough as an adult. I imagine it is worse for a kid. Does he have a scooter cart? I had one of those with my foot and it was cool. All the kids envied me :lol:

My first stitch episode happened when I was a toddler. I had them all the way down my back after splitting it open falling down. Don't know what I fell on, I was in grass. The health dept even came out and searched.

Obviously my clumsiness developed early - I've done both.

3 or 4 years ago...was going up the escalators in the subway at Grand Central. Didn't lift my foot high enough and was wearing those sandals with thick soles.

Hit my head on the escalator steps. But it wasn't all that bad since I was kinda holding onto the railing. I don't know how many stitches I got...but I do know how much it cost. :-?

Nah, he just has a soft cast. He's getting around pretty good with it too.
He can take it off to bathe & sleep.
But for an active kid, it can be pretty frustrating.
He's logging lots of time on his Playstation. :lol:

I never had any stitches.
I had a broken arm when I was 9, a broken leg when I was 11, and a broken heart when I was 35. [smilie=beadygrinner.gif]

The only stitches I've had was after the surgery on my neck. Big ugly black thread...my cousin called me Frankenstein. :( But that's okay, after the surgery my Mom was calling me ET, because my whole head was wrapped in a bandage while I was in the hospital. :roll: :lol:

2 broken legs, a broken and dislocated wrist, broken big toe, numerous other broken toes.

Of course right now I'm wondering if I cracked a bone in my hand/wrist...smashed it really hard the other day, then hit it again in the same spot yesterday and saw stars...just like in the cartoons. :-? :roll:
