A funny story. He just doesn't get it.....

Post by allucaneatbuffett »

Ok. So I am in Las Vegas last week for a work conference. The first day I am there, I have a few hours to kill and walk over to Margaritaville Las Vegas (like any parrothead would).

I am in the store looking at all the T-Shirts and happily listening to JB Music in the background. Suddenly I pick up on a conversation between a middle aged woman, and her husband (I presume her husband).
Anyway, they are looking at T-Shirts and the husband flips the tag over and says "look at that, they want $22.00 for a T-Shirt about a drug addict who sings about Cheeseburgers". He then shakes his head, and they walk out of the store......

I have no doubt that this same guy pumped plenty of $20 bills into those slot machines though.

I couldn't help but chuckle as I continued to kill time in Margaritaville Las Vegas as one of the people my parents warned me about....

It amazes me that so many people are stuck on the perception of Jimmy from 30 years ago. My boss is one of 'em. :-?

$22.00 for a TShirt is a bargain at Margaritaville.

It's Las Vegas. All the tourist crud is *supposed* to be overpriced.

People kill me at times....

I knew this girl when I was in high school that used to say Jimmy was a sexist pig because of "Why Don't We Get Drunk"....I always told her it was a love song from a different point of view...

Why does everybody have to "get it"? So the guy's not a fan and obviously doesn't know anything about Buffett. Who cares? A lot of people here like Jack Johnson. I think of him as a sure cure for insomnia. It doesn't mean I don't "get it", it means I'm not a fan. Life goes on.

It's the calling him a drug addict I objected to. If someone just doesn't like his music that's fine, hell, most of my friends don't "get" it. But dissing him as a drug addict kind of ticks me off.
