EAST TROY — The Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit seized nearly 52 grams of marijuana during Saturday’s Jimmy Buffett concert at Alpine Valley Music Theater.

lol some were pretty oblivious about it. While getting ready to play rock band I got the strong with a unfamiliar Cuban cigar. Turn around right behind me three guys were token away. There was security less the 20 feet away

JB comes to town and all morals go out the window. This performer is a pox on our fine community. He must be stopped, drug use, public drunkenness, speeding...where will it end?? Our children are at risk. He must be stopped.

Go to a real music festival (like Bonnaroo), that's where things get a little crazy.

The drug unit arrested 24 people suspected of possessing marijuana, according to the agency’s news release, and one person suspected of possessing drug paraphernalia.

The concert was sold out with more than 35,000 parrotheads in attendance, according to a Walworth County Sheriff’s Office news release. The sheriff’s office also patrolled the concert.

Deputies cited 32 people suspected of underage drinking, 10 people suspected of possessing marijuana and four people suspected of possessing drug paraphernalia, according to the news release.

So the drug unit and the sheriff's office arrested/cited 70 people out of 35,000 for drug/booze offenses. For you non-math majors, that's not 2%, but 0.2% of the crowd. Less than one quarter of one percent.

But leading with the "seizure" of 2 whole ounces of pot makes those Parrottheads looks much more nefarious, eh?

When they played Tweeter center in Camden last year or the year before my friend took her teenage son and one of his friends.... there was a group near them in the parking lot that got busted for selling special K and ectasy...then there were 2 guys walking around with a tank on wheels selling nitrous oxide.....just because you didn't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

and on the Bonnaroo thing...thanks but no thanks. I went to enough rock concerts in the late 80's and early 90's and witnesses more than my share of bad behavior...probably makes Bonnaroo look like a Catholic school choir!
