St. Maarten..Last Mango In Paradise has moved?

Whenever we go to St. Maarten, we always shop at Last Mango in Paradise. Its a little store run by a guy named Roger who is very tight with Jimmy. He sells all sorts of Parrothead attire. They have been located in Phillipsburg on Main Street for several years. We suggested that our neighbors shop there when they visited St. Maarten in June. We gave them the address that's on the internet. Turns out they had a hard time finding it since they have relocated the store closer to the cruise ship docks at a location called Bobby's Marina. Has anyone been there recently and could give us an update on the new store? Maybe some pictures?

I bought my stuff at the airport as we were just passing through from St Kitts. They have a little shop there.

That was a great idea to locate in the airport. We've never flown in to St. Maarten, always aboard a "tacky cruise ship".
I named my Mazda 3 "Air Mango" because of the bumper stickers I bought at Last Mango in Paradise.

Get your picture taken with "Shark Man" if he's still out front of the store.

Yes it has moved and we managed to find it in February this year. We were very disappointed with it as we have more Jimmy Buffett CD's in our house than they had on the shop. May be it has improved since February.

Do they have a website? I can't find one via the Yahoo.

Nope, they don't maintain a web site, but having shopped there before, I can say they have quite a collection of t-shirts and hats that have a common theme of "Last Mango Beach Club" and "Air Mango". The "Air Mango" logo is excactly like you would find at a Margaritaville except instead of saying "Air Margaritaville" they say "Air Mango". (note the hat I am wearing in the photo below....its from Last Mango)
Besides shirts and hats, there are lots of things like coozies, stickers, some CD's, jewelry, etc.
Here's a link to a photo of the old storefront:

Its a pretty cool store.

The wife and I shopped their 8 years ago when we were on the island. It was a neat store. Hope it's remained that way at the new locale!

Hmmm.... we were eating at Bobby's Marina, at the Green House, this past week, but we didn't notice a shop like that. But then we weren't 'shopping' and no cruise ships were in. Phillipsburg has a LOT of stores, so we were just there hoping one would be open on Sunday to replace a camera, as our good one got wet sailing in Antigua, and there WAS one open.
[Going there... If you are going make sure you spend a day or part of it, at Islet Pinel (off of Cul de Sac, on the French side). Oh, on Anguilla, we got to go to Bankie's final live rehearsal before he gone on tour at the Preserve, also... and there were fireworks over Grand Case, too ('painting the sky'). St. Martin/Sint Maarten is really fine right now, and you should see the new Juliana airport... PS there is an RBTT ATM there that will dispense in three currencies... Dutch florins, US dollars at flat, and Euros. Have so much fun, we did!]

Found it.
It's right past the Green House in Bobby's Marina. Here's a sign.
The marina is all under construction. Pretty small shop. I luckly stumbled across the sign.

Hi Guys. Its Rodger Boutelle in St.Maarten, Owner of Last Mango In Paradise. Was just cruisin' google, trying to figure why I cannot register
www.lastmangoinparadise.com since I have it trademarked in America (some knucklhead in Hawaii stole it !?) and I came across this site. First, let me apologise to all the cool customers who patronized my Front Street store in St.Maarten, the past 14 years. The rent got so rediculous, I was basically working for the landlord ! Was trying to re-establish over at Bobbys Marina but that didn't work out. Only store right now is at Juliana Airport, upstairs in the departure area. The response to my first Airport Store has been so phenomenel (sp?!) that I am offering the concept as a Franchise at other Caribbean Airport locations. A short history lesson, as I see several Air Mango fans out there...our good buddy, Capt. Groovy Gray (Bubba's Capt. on Euphoria 2 and his business partner in Autour du Rocher) ran a charter plane out of St.Barths called Air Mango. 10 years ago, I told Groovy I would create an Air Mango logo for him if I could sell his caps & tees in my store. Bubba was given a cap (actually, I recall, Groovy made him pay for it !) . One of the Margaritaville Buyers saw it, liked the 'fly fast...live slow' slogan so, I started wholesaling it to them with 'Air Margaritaville' replacing 'Air Mango'. The yellow cap Bubba is wearing in his 'Bama Breeze' video is the original "Air Mango" cap Groovy gave him. Tragically, we lost Groovy a few years back when he went down on his approach to the Charleston Airport. The 'fly fast cap' is still available on the Margaritaville website. Thanks again for all the great memories you all left in my store....look for us at future Airport sites around the Caribbean !! You can always reach me at

Thanks for stopping by BN! I bought a hat and shirt last time we were through the airport on our way from St Kitts. This time we are flying directly to St Kitts, so I won't be able to shop the store...but will look forward to seeing your things in airiports around the Caribbean. I need a new shirt since the last one I got is too big for me now...

Hey Rodger, nice posting and welcome!! We were in St Barth in Nov for the Le Select celebration and when we departed St Martin we had to stop by and buy a shirt. The store at Juliana was very busy.
How ironic I just pulled the shirt out last weekend as now our weather is getting back to t-shirt weather again. So many shirts, I had a terrible time deciding.

Hi Roger and welcome to BuffettNews. I'm one of those who's paying for kids' college and won't see Juliana Airport again any time real soon, so I'm hoping you get a website up and running.

I treasure my Air Mango hat and hope to add to my collection. All the best in setting up new stores!

We were a little shocked to see the shark was gone when we were there last Jan. We had drinks at the green house, but didn't see your store relocated.
Guess that is a reason to go back. We love St.M Been there on a cruise 3 times and stayed a week at Great Bay once.
Fabulous island.

I was back in St. Martin this week on another cruise and had one place on the whole weeks schedule that I did not want to miss. Sadly, I found out that Last Mango had closed its doors in the Marina. I left broken hearted.

We will be in St. Martin on November 13th. I hope we can get new t-shirts and hats at the airport location.

Roger,Thanks for sharing the history. Was at your marina location about (3) years ago. It looked fairly new and the immediate area wasn't quite finished. Thought the location was great, near the beach, bars, and restaurants. Loved the photos you had throughout your shop. My wife and I bought a couple of tee-shirts which we still wear once every couple of weeks, and some decals. We took some photos right in front of your entrance, which we have in our little cruise album. Too bad you had to give up that location. All the best.
As always, G.M.,Jr.

Last Mango In Paradise is now in Simpson Bay near the drawbridge. It is in a small yellow building on the left across from Royal Palm. Sign out front says Paradise Found Real Estate. Right next to a small pizza place. We were just there today to pick up some merchandise. Rodger's email is
