Jimmy's all mixed up!

Post by Caribbean Soul Man »

AND I LOVE IT! :D

So far, The Year of Still Here set lists have been excellent and Jimmy has mixed the songs around in a way we've been begging for over the last few years :)

is it the Year of Still Here or the Year of incredible encores?

04/21/2008 - Woodlands, TX (Houston)
29 Come Monday (preceded by Somewhere Over China)

04/24/2008 - St Louis, MO
28 Defying Gravity

04/26/2008 - Frisco, TX (Dallas)
29 Stories We Could Tell

04/29/2008 - Charlotte NC
27 God's Own Drunk :o :P

05/01/2008 - Margaritaville Cafe - New Orleans
22. L'air De La Louisiane (Jimmy acoustic)

05/03/2008 - Jazz Fest - New Orleans LA
24 Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans (with Allen Toussaint)

06/05/2008 - Lakewood Amphitheatre - Atlanta GA
27 It’s A Big Old Goofy World (John Prine cover)

06/07/2008 - TWC Music Pavilion - Raleigh, NC
29. Coast of Carolina

06/10/2008 - DTE Energy Music Center - Clarkston, MI
27 Tin Cup Chalice8) (just Jimmy)

06/12/2008 - Madison Square Garden - New York, NY
27 Lovely Cruise

06/14/2008 - Citizens Bank Park - Philadelphia, PA
29 Defying Gravity (Jimmy solo, for Tim Russert)

07/17/2008 - Cincinnati Show Live on Radio Margaritaville
27 Paradise (John Prine cover)

07/19/2008 - Alpine Valley Show Live on Radio Margaritaville
30 Distantly In Love

07/22/2008 - Pittsburgh Show Live on Radio Margaritaville
28 Death Of An Unpopular Poet :o :P (last played 03-23-2002: Paramount Theatre - Austin, TX)

Not to mention some of the songs he's added in here and there like:
Cowboy in the Jungle
Take Another Road
Tryin' To Reason with Hurricane Season
Boat Drinks (solo)
Coconut Telegraph
School Boy Heart
Jamaica Farewell
Far Side of the World
Miss You So Badly
and Nadirah's version of Makin' Music for Money

That's my idea of a Feeding Frenzy and I just had to give credit to Jimmy and the CRB for a wonderful mix of songs so far. I can't wait to see what else they've cooked up for us. And didn't their original practice sessions before the Houston show include Migration? I'm sure it will work itself in somewhere

Any other guesses as to what might turn up on a set list in the near future?
you can't lay on the beach and drink rum all day if you don't start in the morning 8)

What would be really, really cool if all those songs were on the same set list.

Or if some resourceful BNer put them together for a cd compilation.

I would love to hear him play Happily Ever After as an encore in Chicago, also I would have to imagine that he will be playing Tonight I Just Need my Guitar, Someday I Will, and Growing Older But Not Up at some point on this tour. It would also be great to hear He Went to Paris.

Great post, Caribbean Soul Man! AND GREAT JOB, JIMMY!

It was kinda funny how Jimmy said last night he didn't realize he'd been doing that until someone pointed it out to him. :) :)

Still hoping for Nautical Wheelers at Jones Beach. :)

I see he played Take another Road last night. Sigh - I'd LOVE to hear that live.

[smilie=givingittheeye.gif] I'm a little jealous. Oh well, he gave us a Fingers fix at Alpine....

We'd love to hear "Trouble on the Horizon" from Music For Our Mother Ocean II when he plays in Florida this tour (Please)...seems appropriate in these days and times.

I just have to mention that Jimmy sang a beautiful version of Gulf Coast Highway at the Woodlands show this year too, to start off all this special Year of Still Here.
