Toyota Park has been tested and its awesome. I saw Clapton's Crossroads FEst there last year. When I heard Jimmy was playing there only good could come from it for me as I had only been to Tinley Park. The sound is incredible as it was designed into the building from the onset.ExpatriatedAmerican wrote:Most definately NOT sad... Toyota park is a soccer stadium with mediocre accustics, I hit Alpine annually and shun my "local" Chicago show, be it Tinley Park (worst sound ever) or the untested TP. But with free tickets I'd check out TP. On SIRIUS Jimmy sounded like he had whipped the band into better shape there Thursday (AND CERTAINLY ON SATURDAY) than the prior Saturday; Alpine sounded like the band was stoned, drunk, and didn't give a crap - and Jimmy did not seem happy with them. Not all of us are bombed in the lawn, we notice when the band goes too fast or too slow, and having Fingers in the line up doesn't make up for the rest of the band turning in a cut rate impersonation of themselves. I'll cut some slack for Robert, Nadira, and Doyle, they were tight and thoroughly enjoyable but the bulk of the CRB sucked worse than any I've seen in 18 years across 5 venues. I'm a huge JB fan, but I gotta call 'em as I see 'em.
The tailgating in the parking lots is who gets pinched on Toyota Park. Not enough room.
