We could be looking for a different D coach next year.

Kudos to the Red Raiders from Lubbock as they had the intestinal fortitude to come back and beat Texas after the Horns seemingly had averted disaster with a late score to go ahead. Okay, we must also play the "luck" card as a Texas D Back dropped a gimme interception that would have sealed the game for the Horns. Poor kid is probably getting roasted on the spit back in Austin!

Gators.....everything just seems to be going their way right now! And how about Coach Meyer calling the late time-outs to milk the game and let the Gators savor the drubbing & make the Dawg suffer on the field just that little extra! :o

Volunteer fans.......who's your QB? Does it really matter? Is this REALLY it for Phil Fulmer? Who will THE MAN be on the sidelines next year?

Noles.....so close.....but yet so far......Bowden sure has suffered some heartbreaking defeats over the years and this one ranks right up there with the "Wide-Rights & Wide-Lefts".

Indiana...first Big 10 team to lose to 2 MAC teams in same season! :o

So many great games Saturday........glad I got my yard work done EARLY that day!!!!! 8)

I am still suffering, that is the worst time I have ever had in Jacksonville.

I guess it could be worse I could be a Tennessee fan

Fulmer reportedly out after this season

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Phillip Fulmer will not be returning for an 18th season with Tennessee, according to multiple reports Monday.

ESPN.com cited multiple sources that Fulmer, 58, met with Tennessee officials Monday morning where they agreed it would be best if the coach did not stay on the job after this season. The report says an announcement will be made later Monday. The Tennessean also reported Fulmer would announce he would step down.

Short memory Bob? How often was Tennessee competing for SEC titles and National titles pre Fulmer? His time may have come, but be careful what you wish for.

Cast your vote for USA TODAY player of the week. So far, the top two vote getters are:

Brian Brunner, QB, Central Michigan:
Stepping in for injured starter Dan Lefevour, the senior signal caller set a school record with 485 yards passing as the Chippewas won at Indiana 37-34. Brunner was 35-for-53, had touchown passes of 6, 7, 16 and 79 yards and a 1-yard scoring run that provided the winning score.

Graham Harrell, QB, Texas Tech: The Red Raiders quarterback delivered in dramatic fashion, throwing a 28-yard touchdown pass to Michale Crabtree with one second left to beat No. 1 Texas 39-33. For the game, Harrell completed 36 of 53 passes for 474 yards and two scores.

This is the easiest choice you'll have in an election all week--
no red or blue, just vote MAROON!

Funny, you got me on that one. However I was like "Oh I have to read this steaming pile." Coach D will be in East Lansing for along time. Its safe to say he is Emotionally attached to the football program. :D

I think I was a little harsh on ol' Fulmer yesterday. Watching his press conference last night reminded me how much he loves this team and this school. That being said I think this was the right decision for the team. We will miss you coach and thank you for your love and dedication.

   Couldn't resist! I could only realistically seeing him leave State for OSU....and that would be a longshot at best. Maybe the pros.....  Can you say Perles/Sabin rumors??!! He's definitely laying the foundation for you guys.

I had not realized he was there for 17 years....that's a pretty impressive run. I hope the AD decides to stay in the Tennesee family...

If Cutcliffe has an out clause, you'd think he'd be the man. But considering he's in his first year at Duke, the timing couldn't be worse.

It's been widely publicized that Phulmer Phouled up (resisted the temptation to use a different *ph* word) Michigan with his National Championship vote in '97 which P*SSED ME OFF BIG TIME!! Aside from that, got nothing but respect for the guy. Hammer away if you want but his record speaks for itself. 99 games over 500...not too shabby!
Tough spot for Vol fan, I can understand why you're chomping to get back into the National spotlight, but these things tend to run in cycles in the SEC. LSU had their down time, Bama, Florida under Zook, Georgia's been up & down. Maybe it was time to to go, but it's a shame he couldn't do it on his own terms after a successful season (see 2007).

MAC football on ESPN2 right now...
Since it's election day, tonight's Mid-American Conference contest between Miami (Ohio) and Buffalo will take on a political theme.

The RedHawks will don all-red uniforms while the Bulls will wear all-blue uniforms for the first time in either schools' history. Both teams applied for a waiver from the NCAA to adjust their uniform colors.

It was pure coincidence that Miami, a red team, and Buffalo, a blue team, happened to play on Election Tuesday. It's also coincidence that Ohio has traditionally been a red state and New York has been blue the past few elections.

Both schools also took the initiative to register every member on their respective teams to vote. Miami players voted absentee ballot as did the Buffalo players who were not from New York. The rest of the Buffalo football team voted early.
