Just turned on the tv for the noon news and they have a live feed from LA. Tried calling mom and dad but couldn't get through, finally did but they are on the phone with my bro so are supposed to call me back if they can get through. Guess that means they are okay though.

Edit...Mom just called back...they're ok but that's all she had time to tell me, she'll call back later. Haven't heard where the epicenter was.

Great, bro is flying in with the kids on Saturday, hope this gets over and done with before then.

Did some wiggling here in San Diego...
it hit the same time the trash truck was
outside my office taking care of the dumpster...
thought the dufus hit the building

It bumped around a bit, but no damage showing yet.
I work out in the country with lots of old, old live oaks,
sometime it takes a little while before they start losing
branches...I had better move my car......

And now downgraded to 5.4

5% chance this was a foreshock, which will go down to 1% 24 hours from now. Right now they're doing bridge/overpass/road inspections but thankfully most have been retrofitted since the Northridge quake, as have many of the buildings.

Kinda funny....at the time the earthquake hit I had just finished putting together a first aid kit for my parents that I had customized just for them and their needs.

Talk about a bunch of clueless peeps.

Did ya catch the footage from one of the schools where they were interviewing kids? One said that her teacher did nothing and they all ran out the door. Glad to know we waste all that time doing earthqake drills, what's the point when the kids don't pay attention and don't take the drills seriously?

I haven't seen anything as yet - just heard audio. But the council meeting when the guy keeps on saying "earthquake, earthquake, earthquake - it's still going" cracked me up cause I thought - they're there they know it

We are 30 miles from the epicenter here and felt it pretty darn good...Building shook for a good minute...peeps are shoken up but everything ok overall
