Glory Days
As much as I hate to admit it, Glory Days is actually starting to grow on me.
Anyone else having have this same feeling? or am I will in the very small minority?

Ooh... this it probably gonna get interesting.
Has Jimmy ever actually sung Glory Days and remembered all the words? Every time I've heard him sing it he messes up the first or second verse.
But no, it's not growing on me. Although I do like some of the covers he does, I'm not a fan of the Dylan, Springsteen, DMB ones.

If he plays a Dylan song in Newport, and if that is it, I might just have to cry. And not tears of joy.LIPH wrote:Glory Days, Rainy Day Women (although I expect to hear it at Newport), Trippin' Billies, Scarlet Begonias, The Horizon Has Been Defeated - never again. Really, never again. Please

Don't really like the covers in General, for the most part. Glory Days is one of the absolute worst. Less covers... more Jimmy... isn't that what going to a concert is all about? Hearing the music of the musician you are seeing?
I don't mind 2 or 3 covers, but last year at Gillette, there was about 7 or 8. It's just not necessary.
Call me crazy.

No. Is it growing on you because you like the song or is it growing on you like a hostage forms a bond with their captor?
I think it is that I am bonding with my captor, I have heard it so many times now, that it just kinda grew on me. Or I am just comparing it to Rainy Day Woman.......
The Dylan song is horrendous. I am heading to Paris in Sept for the shows, if he sings Rainy Day Woman, and you hear someone booing, that will be me.

((((Shudder)))) As much as I love Desolation Row, I don't know if i could picture him doing it.labatt1876 wrote:Totally agree, if he really feels the need to play a Dylan cover, at least choose something better. Labatt, I am with you. I enjoy hearing Glory Days in the setlist. Although I enjoyed it the first time I heard it in Philly in 2005. Maybe its a NJ thing. I think it is neat when he does songs that are tied to the area he is playing. (Fenway- Sweet Caroline, New Orleans- City of NO, etc). Not a fan of Rainy Day Women though by JB or Dylan for that matter.
I did like hearing The Horizon Has Been Defeated, because it introduced me to Jack Johnson's music.
Covers I'd like to see dropped: Brown Eyed Girl, & Another Saturday Night If he were playing those songs in my backyard, I'd close the blinds.

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

I keep getting confused. Whenever anyone says Bruce Dickinson, I now know you mean

But to me, when I hear Bruce Dickinson, I think of

Bruce Dickinson, the human air raid signal. You know, from this band?

Jimmy Buffett doing "Run to the Hills"? Now THAT would be an interesting cover.
