Any chance that Jimmy will show up at Bruce Springsteen's show tonight at Gillette?
Jimmy's probably in the area for the Newport Folk Festival.
Fingers crossed...

Did he show up? It would have been an interesting combo. Or see them doing "Margaritaville" together.

no...he didn't show up but the show was truly phenomenal.
Here is a video of Glory Days...it's very shaky but conveys the passion and energy of the show.

I saw Bruce when he came to Chicago last fall. It was simply the best concert I have ever seen. The guy is 58 years old and still puts on a two and a half hour show.

I think Jimmy should follow Bruce's lead on this one. Would certainly spice things up and add a little variety.

Bruce's show in Boston was close to three hours...no breaks at all - one hit after another.
In terms of taking requests...many of you may be too young to remember. But in the early 80's...Jimmy had a little lotto machine that he would bring on stage (the kind that blows ping pong balls around randomly). In this case, the ping pong balls would have song names on them. He'd plug in the machine and whatever ball/song came up the shoot, he'd play. Pretty cool.

I saw him last weekend at Giants Stadium, and I also agree that it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. He played for 3 solid hours

Yeah, I referred to that tout on an earlier post but I don't remember which one.

Jimmy, please read this...
Most of the night's deeper cuts came courtesy of request signs that Springsteen collects from the audience midshow. We even brought our own, requesting "Streets of Fire" and "Jungleland," and while neither song got played, it was an honor just to have him grab the signs out of our hands. Spontaneity is the name of the game, as he is known to abandon his planned set list, keeping the band members on their toes. And what he demands of them, they deliver with a grace that can only betoken that they are believers too. We left the show in euphoric exhaustion, imagining Springsteen leaving on a stretcher, with the reassurance that it "ain't no sin to be glad we're alive."
