Back to school: Tips and Tricks

Post by buffettbride »

Thought I'd start a place for y'all to share your back to school tips and tricks.

Holy cow! My kiddos go back to school on August 18th. My ten (almost 11) year old starts middle school (6th grade) and my 'lil booger (4) starts preK.

That seems earlier than usually to me, but my sister's girls start even earlier! August 12th!!!!

Anyway, my primary contribution to this thread is the bestest most wonderful lunchbox I've ever found: http://www.laptoplunches.com/

We purchased one just after my daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I realized packing her lunch was going to be a daily occurance (no more hot lunch for us), but also that packing gluten-free foods that taste good just don't conform to traditional baggies.

I won't get too into the obvious green factor with this lunchbox, but it is also a way to pack a lunch with no additional waste like sammich bags and food packaging. :D

Anyway, any other back to school tips? It's the first year Victoria will have a locker and we're currently debating to buy or make locker shelves.

I bought Caitlin all sorts of locker organizer things......I was beyond pi$$ed at the end of the school year when she cleaned out her locker and they were all still in the packages...............

My baby starts high school this year.....which brings with it the inevitable DATING thing.............god help us.

Where the seagulls preach
Is where the Chinese buried the truth...

yes, yes it is.

My daughter calls it "Mommy's Zen Time" when I'm packing lunches. I swear it is what I look forward to every day, plus I pack kick-ass lunches so Victoria is happy, too.
