The Real Question: Has Jimmy Jumped the Shark?

Several comments on this board (ticket prices, Newport, Set lists, enthusiasm) leads to me ask this honest question.
"Jumping the shark is a colloquialism used by U.S. TV critics and fans to denote that point in a TV show or movie series' history where the plot veers off into ridiculous story lines or out-of-the-ordinary characterizations, undergoing too many changes to retain the original appeal of the series. Shows that have "jumped the shark" are typically deemed to have passed their peak as after this point critical fans can point to a noticeable decline in the show's overall quality."

By jumping the shark, do you mean selling out? Either way the vote is yes. It is hard to admit and it was hard to come to that realization but it is true. He is a great business man, but he will always be a better song writer and storyteller. I just wish he would get back to that.
Maybe let the hair get long again and grow the mustache back so he gets back to his roots!!

If the concensus is that he's jumped the shark, then there'd best be no howling when he retires at the end of the season, eh?

"jumped the shark" Fonzi in California....that's when it was all over with the show.
I would not say he has jumped the shark, but too close for comfort to the tank.
I still enjoy going every year and listen everyday....

I think I am done. J
immy, you got $450 of mine for St. Louis and Chicago this year. I need that money a lot more (A LOT MORE!) than you do.
When I think about it, the $300 we spent for the Chicago tix would have been better spent on a weekend up North or on a really kick ass dinner with a bottle of Opus One.
Thanks, Jimmy. It's been fun but not $300 plus fun.
