Newport, the very basics

One more Newport thread. Indulge me. Please.
After all the screaming and yelling about the setlist and perceived promises made and broken, etc, etc, etc, take it down to the elemental level: At the very heart of it, at the end of the day, for those who were there, did you have a good time, or not?
Yes, or no. Black and white. No qualifiers. As my dad says, "no ifs ands or buts."
My answer: a resounding YES!

I would have left the word "Buffett" out of the question but yes, I had a great time. I probably wouldn't have gone if he wasn't there, but his set was far from being the highlight of the day for me.

Yes, absolutely.
I hadn't been to Newport or the Folk Festival there in ages, and I needed a little vacation.
Besides, as said previously, I didn't go there just for JB - there were several other artists there I wanted to see as well.
But Jake Shimabukuro stole the show for me with his mind-blowing performance!
So, all in all, I had a great time.

We had a wonderful time in Newport. It was a beautiful day, wonderful people, great food. It was so much fun seeing Jimmy by the water with all the boats in the Harbour. Seeing Jimmy live just makes me smile, I have enough stress out work and his shows are always fun. I don't have the energy to analyze the set lists, I go to see Jimmy for fun not his set lists. Plus I got to the front row!! Fantastic!!!

I think I have made no more than 10 posts on here in the last 10 months because I think the whole forum is just depressing now.
My 2 cents:
I went to Newport, I had one of the best Buffett days possible, and saw a whole day of great music, including Jimmy.
We all have our own opinions, and that's great, but Buffettnews has sadly become a little too negative for me these days.
Have fun with what we got, because it ain't gonna be around forever.
