I saw something on US Water Polo yesterday. I knew a few Water Polo Players in High School. Those guys (and now girls) are some of the best conditioned and toughest athletes you will ever meet in your life. I hope they win the gold. Although, I think Hungary is still pretty dominant in this area.

I didn't think water polo looked all that tough 'til hubby told me that their feet don't touch the ground and they have to stay above water and throw the ball. I kinda thought at first it was just an elaborate game of keep away.Frank4 wrote:LIPH wrote:I think someone played water polo.comtnfish wrote:What precisely is it about water polo that you think it should NOT be an olympic sport? If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Life is short, live long!!
I'd rather be a wiseass than a dumbass.

One of Georgia's gold medals was in judo. The Georgian beat a Russian. They also beat Russia in beach volleyball, although I read both of the players from Georgia are actually native Brazilians.ph4ever wrote:WHERE'S MOLLY WITH MY MORNING RANKINGS???

It was the 1956 Games where the Russians and Hungarians played in Water Polo after the Soviet Union invaded Hungary. Many consider it the greatest Water Polo Match ever played.
