I listen really close, and still miss every third word. And that's before he gets excited and starts talking fast.
He's supposed to be on after this medal ceremony. I'll give him another chance.
I just try reading his hands.

Think about it. That was a Chinese crowd mainly, and they were booing the score.

The Chinese have been getting very favorable marks from inexperienced judges.
Apparently the main controversy in the USA V China gold medakl drama - is that it was an aussie judge that swayed it China way. This judge has now received death threats
I can put my hand on my heart and say - the day an Australian favours China over USA (or many other countries for that matter) - is the day hell freezes over - it aint gonna happen.
So - I have not seen it - it was either a genuine mistake - or she was right - with her trained eye - I got no idea.

Some "inspirational" stories from the games - not necessarily where winners are expected, or stories of people that were not winners, but overcame lots just to get there ...
The german heavy weight weightlifter - lost his wife just a couple of years ago - won gold ....... teary scenes!
The South African 10K outdoor swimmer that swam today - took off her prosthetic leg to swim - how great is that!!!
Anna Meares for Aust - cyclist - got Silver last night - but what is amazing that in January she crashed in the USA and was in hospital with a broken neck that was just 2mm (that is like a pin head) away from being paralysed from the chin down ...... to get over both the emotional and physical trauma and even get to the games - AWESOME!
Emma Snowsill - won the triathlon - lost her boyfriend a few years back when he was training for triathlon and killed by a hit run driver. She overcame that trauma (if it was me - I would stay off the road as a runner and cyclist from the trauma) and won gold!
and - anyone ever seen three happier medalists in the womens 100m hurdles last night? Was just great to see them - the happiest group I have seen - USA, Aust and Canada! (I dont think our girl knows what to say yet - we s*ck on track and didnt expect any medals

)
Feel free to add heartwarming stories.

On his radio talk show, Glenn Beck just described Michael Phelps as the new gold standard.
And I have to agree.
WHAT an athlete, what a man.

I read this guy's story in the paper this morning and it was refreshing to read and quite inspirational. It's one of those stories that makes the Olympics so enjoyable. Son of undocument Mexican immigrants makes good.

Bolt strikes twice, with a second WR Posted Wednesday, August 20, 2008 5:26 AM ET
BEIJING - Usain Bolt completed his sprint double Wednesday with a gold medal in the men's 200m.
Once again, the Jamaican blew away the field, but this time he ran through the finish and with a 19.30 broke Michael Johnson's world record.
Churandy MARTINA of Netherlands Antilles got the silver, several strides back at 19.82.
American Wallace Spearmon finished third but was disqualified for stepping on a lane line. That gave the bronze to teammate Shawn Crawford, who entered as the defending Olympic champion. (Full results)
The final American, Walter Dix, was fourth.
On Saturday night, Bolt won the 100m with a world record of 9.69 seconds. He began his celebration with 20 meters to go, throwing his arms in the air and pounding his chest as he crossed the finish.
Bolt is the first man since American Carl Lewis in 1984 to sweep the 100m and 200m gold medals at an Olympics. He is also the first man ever to break the world marks in both sprints at an Olympics. Not even Lewis or Jesse Owens managed that.
Showing what he can do when he runs at full speed all the way through the finish - something he hadn't done yet in the Beijing Games - Bolt eclipsed the old record of 19.32 seconds set by Michael Johnson in Atlanta in 1996.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
This works out to two back to back 100 meter runs of 9.65 seconds,
which is faster than his record time of 9.69. That is SMOKING!
Would love to see him run the 400.

thanks guys for trying - It doesn't bother me that much to not get the secrets. If I wanted to stay home and watch it live on CBC I would - I'm just sooooo dedicated to my job.
