Lasix is a diuretic not a steroid. And it's used in humans too, I've been on it before.
Lasix is also a doping agent. I don't know what the cheating german horse used. I shouldn't have mixed the big brown steriod use in the post. BB did use steroids (legal in some states).

I'll give you an "A-" in emoticon use for the day. That's probably good for a Bronze medal.

Unbelievable the IOC is actually opening up an investigation into the age issue of the Chinese gymnast He Kexin.
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijin ... oly,102564
I bet you it ends up just being a dog and pony invstigation, but hopefully it will lead to punishment if guilty.
If the IOC determines she was underage wouldn't she lose all of her medals including the Chinese team losing the team gold for using an underage athlete?

in a perfect world, yes, BUT don't get ahead of yourself.

I think the IOC had no choice but to open up an investigation, there's just too much evidence pointing to something hinky. However, my heart breaks for these girls if it is indeed found to be true and they are stripped of their medals. In a country where winning is everything and losing is not tolerated, I fear what may happen to them.

They are pawns, they did not make the decision to compete, that was made for them. Maybe that is why the IOC was dragging their feet.

I remember hearing that one of the girls wanted to quit, but her parents wouldn't let her.

If I counted right and I included diving, because I don't know what the age requirement is, but they look really young too---China could lose as many as 11 medals if everyone is underage

I don't think the entire team is under 16, I do think some just look young. Hell, so did ours for a number of years...this is really the first year they have all looked normal. But I'd say at least 3 of China's gymnasts are under 16. Divers don't have the age requirement, and the one diver flat out said that she doesn't eat (which is why she switched from gynastics to diving), so of course she's going to look small.

the one that weighed about 65 lbs
No,they aren't all underage, but even with just the gymnists, if someone on the team is underage, would they have to give back all the team medals?
