Hi everyone, please forgive if its common knowledge, as ive been kindof outta the loop for a while. Why doesnt fingers tour regularly with Jimmy any more? Ive always LOVED his contribution to the sound and was a little thrown when i foound out he was no longer a regular part of the touring reefer band. thanks. Peace,Chris

Fingers left the band? When did this happen?

Welcome to the board, and I hope you'll forgive some of the sarcastic parrotheads who replied ahead of me.

He left the band back in 2000. While the cause has been widely speculated, it is only known by a few people. The two most widespread beliefs are that he quit over JB's retirement plan for the Coral Reefers or JB's lack of allowing family members on tour. There are a couple of posters on this board who claim to know but have said that they were told in confidence and cannot reveal it.

He first appeared back on stage in 2006 and has made a few appearances here and there since then. So, whatever differences they have had, they must have resolved.

Jimmy and Fingers know why he left, and probably a handful of close confidants. Fortunately, they've all chosen to keep the details to themselves. I'm just glad that two old friends have mended fences well enough that they now appear on the same stage from time to time.

Whatever the reason, he certainly brings a lot to the music. After seeing him play with Mac in Avalon, wow, Jimmy's music is missing a lot without him in the band.

When you listen to the "older" music with Fingers, what a difference. Hopefully, Fingers can be involved with some future music ?

Fingers really adds someting special to some of Jimmys classics and i really miss him so badly!! Cheers,Chris

it was a great surprise when he showed at alpine this year an extra bolt of energy ans the 2 of them couldn't have looked happier Here's hoping he is in GW this year. If you have the chance to see him elsewhere, do it very nice and personable guy

Yes! WSGHS! ...it was great to see Fingers with Jimmy at Alpine this summer. Hopefully we'll see more of this in the future.

I was shocked to see Fingers on stage for the second half at Alpine.... I've caught shows with Fingers & Mac and the songs don't sound the same with out the harmonica

I would love to hear APLAF one more time with Jimmy and Fingers.

I'd like to hear it for the FIRST time - I came to this too late to have heard them when they were still touring together regularly.

Would love to catch him on stage again it would be a treat!!!

I believe Fingers will be at Hog's Breath in Key West when we're there in April. Looking forward to it!!!

I'd rather see Heather Dee Perry back on stage with Jimmy & The Reefers. But that's just me.
