SEC FANS....help

Trying to plan the college football roadtrip circa 2008 & your Jordan-Hare Stadium has a date of interest this season.
What's the skinny on the tailgating situation on gameday?
I've heard Auburn is kinda in the middle of nowhere, with nothing much to do. So I would presume you cruise into town Sat. morning, tailgate, catch the game, then get the hell outta there?
Any help would be appreciated.
Okay, let me rephrase that.....ANY SEC FANS WHO HAVE BEEN TO AUBURN for a football game, please give me your take on the Saturday & weekend surrounding it experience!
Thank You!

I love the trip to Auburn every other year. They have a large area always available for GA fans and allow us in early Friday. The fans at Auburn are some of the best to be around. Watching the eagle circle the stadium and landing on the 50 yd. line pregame is a neat experience. If you get the chance I highly recommend a tailgate at Auburn and if Auburn happens to win the celebration at Toomers corner is a blast.
Toomers corner
The center of town, where the Auburn University campus meets the City of Auburn. Toomer's Corner, where College Street intersects Magnolia Avenue, has long been the gathering place for Auburn athletic celebrations. After any football win, and significant victories in other sports, Auburn students and citizens alike join forces to "roll" the trees (and anything else that doesn't move) at Toomer's Corner with toilet tissue. Celebrations after significant football victories can go on for hours and leave the heart of town looking like a blizzard passed through.

Don't buy tickets close to the Auburn student section. They are the biggest @ssholes on the planet - even worse than the Gayturds fans. Last time I sat near them at Neyland Stadium I had to get up before the game was over and walk to another area of the stadium before getting in a fight. Their behavior was unbelieveable!

Hmmm, sounds a lot like my experiences at Neyland. Then again, maybe I shouldn't have had my Auburn shirt on in the season ticket holder section a couple years ago for that embarrassment.
Auburn is a great place to see a game. The student section is now fenced off but there are usually a few people who get in and out.
After 2002, they banned cars on campus. Before that, you could drive right up to the gate and tailgate (assuming you arrived on Tuesday). Be prepared to walk.
Here is a map of the area. We usually park near the Alpha Psi house (Wire Rd and Thatch Ave), but that is because my wife was in Vet school and Alpha Psi is the vet fraternity.
Technically, Auburn is pretty much in the middle of no where. However the campus is only a few miles off I-85. It is an hour from Montgomery, and two hours from Birmingham or Atlanta.
Traffic is a mess so you want to be where ever you are going to park by early morning. We are hoping to head down to at least one game this year; most likely the UGA game. If you are looking for easy tickets or a more subdued atmosphere, go to one of the first two games or homecoming. Auburn has a tough at-home schedule this year and there will be some bitter rivalries.
Also, I would suggest going to a game NOT broadcast by ESPN. One of the new eagles sometimes has trouble with the overhead camera lines so they opt not to fly. Here is a video of Tiger. Fast forward to 2:55 to see the flight.

While I have never been to Auburn to a game..
I have very serious doubts that that
are as bad as the Wazzu clowns..
I had a 50 year old female tell my Mom that
I had better sit down and quit rooting for
Boise (in Boise) or Her "Man" would fix me..
(this was about 8-9 years back...)
or the Nevada fans.. (or to pizz them off I say UNR)
they are just poor sports.. AND their team flashes gang signs
at each other during the game..

Be sure and get a glass of lemonade at the drug store at Tommer's Corner. It's pricey (I think it's about $4 per cup), but you won't regret it. The best lemondae you'll ever put in your mouth.

When Tennessee plays Rocky Top, the Auburn students join in and sing F*CK YOU ROCKY TOP! at the top of their lungs. The entire game, every time it is played, whether they are winning or losing. Of course their language and actions are quite similar in all other situation throughout the game. Totally unacceptable.
Now I'm sure there have been instances of idiots in Neyland Stadium being jerks. I have no doubt, everybody has them. I'm speaking overall though. Auburn's students are the most crude I've seen and heard, seconded closely by the entire Gaytor fan base. I won't even go into what we saw down there a few years ago.
